- Lalomanu Beach - Situated at the southeastern tip of the island, Lalomanu Beach is a strong contender for the title of Upolu’s most beautiful beach, inviting visitors to “come and unwind in paradise.” From the beach, one can admire the uninhabited yet majestic Nu’utele Island, located off the eastern coast.
- To Sua Ocean Trench - To Sua Ocean Trench is undoubtedly Samoa’s premier attraction. “To Sua” translates to “big hole” in Samoan, which perfectly describes this natural wonder.
This site is one of the most unique swimming spots globally. The 30-meter, nearly symmetrical swimming hole, adorned with lush hanging vegetation, is set in a lava field near Lotofaga village, perched on a dramatic coastline amidst verdant gardens on Upolu’s south coast. Access to the water is via a steep yet secure wooden ladder, and the climb is truly rewarding.
To Sua comprises two large holes connected by a lava tube cave. The main hole, a tidal pool, links to the ocean through an underwater lava tube just meters away. The second hole is accessible through a delightful swim in an open-air lava tube cave.
- Togitogiga Waterfall - Located within the O Le Pupu Pu’e National Park on Upolu’s central south coast, these two cascade-fed waterfalls are just 28 kilometers from Apia. The pools beneath both waterfalls offer excellent swimming opportunities, particularly the lower one, where visitors can enjoy a natural waterfall shower.
The area is surrounded by lush tropical forests, making it a haven for thrill-seekers who enjoy jumping off the waterfalls or exploring behind them.
- Papapapaitai Falls - Approximately 14km south of Apia, just off the Cross Island Road, lies the lookout for Papapapaitai Falls, a 110-meter waterfall that cascades into a steep forested gorge, making it the tallest in Upolu.
From afar, one can witness the impressive waterfall plunging over the edge into a pond, which features a smaller waterfall flowing out of it. While swimming at the base of Papapapaitai Falls is not possible, the view from the top is breathtaking.
