A Day In L.A. Roof Down, Shades On

Stanley Yu

The Original Farmers Market

Start your sunny day in LA with a bite at the Grove's Farmers Market. There are numerous food options and ample outdoor seating. Grab some fresh fruit for the road

Griffith Observatory

Take a short drive up the hill to Griffith Observatory, which offers a stunning view of downtown LA and also a very close view of the iconic Hollywood sign. The view is also stunning at night with the gleaming lights of LA below, but unfortunately the Hollywood sign is not lit at night, so going during the day is best if you want to snap some photos. The Observatory sits atop Griffith Park, which has lots of hiking trails.

solstice canyon

Head out to Malibu for a hike at Solstice Canyon - featuring waterfalls, rivers, and all.

J. Paul Getty Villa

Stop by the Getty Villa to see some ancient Greek and Roman architecture.

Pacific Coast Highway

Take a drive down Pacific Coast Highway ("PCH" for short) to catch the sunset

father's office

Stop by father's office for some craft beer and a delicious burger (in the event you have not yet stopped at an In-N-Out earlier in the day!)

Hollywood Walk of Fame

Walk off your burger on the Walk of Fame - somewhat of a tourist trap but makes the calorie-burning way more interesting as you look for your favorite celebrities' names.

bar marmont

Stop by Bar Marmont after your busy day for a glimpse of chic Hollywood and perhaps some celebrity sightings

I would stay at: W Hotel Hollywood

Continue the party poolside on the rooftop of the W, which is only accessible for hotel guests and friends. Stumble back down to your hotel room and know that you've experienced your day in LA in style.
