This 2-mile walk will lead you through several concealed stairways in the area. It’s an excellent workout, and along the way, you’ll encounter iconic sites like the Micheltorena Stairs, renowned as “the most Instagrammed stairs in the world.”

Throughout the tour, you’ll discover the intriguing history of this neighborhood and LA as a whole. Learn about William Mulholland and Griffith J. Griffith; their stories might surprise you!

As we stroll, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take photos! The operator is delighted to be your personal photographer, ensuring you capture every moment. The neighborhood is filled with fantastic photo spots. Whether you want to pose with the art or simply capture the scenery, this tour is perfect for photography enthusiasts.

• Micheltorena Stairs - Begin the tour by visiting the most famous and easily accessible stairway. The vibrant rainbow colors and hearts on this mural attract locals and visitors from everywhere. That’s why these stairs are known as “the most Instagrammed stairway in the world!”

You’ll learn about the art’s origins as unauthorized graffiti and how it became a recognized piece of art. You’ll also hear from the person who maintains the stairs for the community (hint: they might be leading the tour!)

• Music Box Steps - What would an LA tour be without a touch of film history? Our most renowned stairs along the route may not be painted, but they do have an Oscar! We’ll visit the site of the Laurel and Hardy film ‘The Music Box’. The operator will even show you a short clip from the film, ensuring plenty of laughs.
• Silver Lake - After passing the Music Box Steps, we’ll explore a bit of bustling Sunset Blvd. You’ll receive the best recommendations for dining and shopping once the tour concludes! This lively stretch of Sunset is packed with award-winning restaurants - perhaps we’ll even spot a celebrity trying to stay under the radar while enjoying a fish taco!

From there, we’ll visit another painted stairway!

• Murray Stairway - Time to climb another stairway! This stairway has a bit of drama surrounding its creation and the artists involved. That’s a story for the tour itself; we wouldn’t want to spread rumors online!

This stunning painted stairway features a large piano-themed mural on its 90 stairs (almost perfect for the 88 keys found on a standard piano keyboard.) It’s a bit of a challenging hike to the top, but then we have a pleasant, relaxing walk without stairs for a while.
