Xiamen - After enjoying breakfast, embark on a 2 to 2.5-hour drive to Nanjing County to explore the Tianluokeng Earthen Building Cluster.

Zhangzhou Tianluokeng Village - These unique multi-storey residences, crafted by the Hakka people, are typically round or square with numerous rooms on each level. At Tianluokeng, observe four round buildings encircling a square tower. The guide will then take you to Taxiashui Village to experience the local Hakka customs.

Yongding County - Continue the private Xiamen tour to Yongding County, where you will spend the night at a local hotel.

Yongding Earth Building - Known as the museum of Hakka earthen buildings, Yongding showcases various towers from different eras. The Hongkeng Cultural Village in Yongding is a treasure trove of China’s earthen architecture, featuring the Zhencheng Building, also called the “Prince of Earthen Buildings” for its exquisite design, the palace-like Kuiju Building, the small Rusheng Building housing six families, and the Fuyu Building resembling a traditional official’s mansion.

Xiamen - After exploring these historic structures, enjoy a 3-hour drive back to your hotel in Xiamen.

Xiamen - In the morning, the tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel around 09:00. They will transfer you to a ferry for a 10-minute boat ride to Gulangyu Island, marking the start of this private Xiamen day tour.

Gulangyu Island - The first destination is Shuzhuang Garden, located in the island’s southern region. With a clever design that complements the natural landscape, the park is divided into two sections: the Garden of Hiding the Sea (Canghaiyuan) and the Garden of Making-Up Hills (Bushanyuan). Next, visit the Piano Museum, which boasts a vast collection of historic and modern pianos from Hu Youyi’s collection. Gulangyu Island is a popular tourist spot due to its delightful climate and stunning views. From afar, it resembles a charming garden floating on the sea. As you leisurely explore the island, you’ll be captivated by the blend of Chinese and foreign architectural styles, vibrant flowers, lush trees, and the captivating coastline. Once a private garden, Shuzhuang Garden features many beautiful structures like pavilions and houses. The Piano Museum within the garden offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of this musical instrument.

Nanputuo Temple - After lunch, the Xiamen day trip extends to the South Putuo Temple, renowned across China and home to the Buddhist College of Minnan. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), the South Putuo Temple is a grand Buddhist temple comprising four main buildings: Devajara Hall, Mahavira Hall, Dabei Hall, and the scripture library. Those interested in Buddhist culture will appreciate the sacred statues and treasures within the temple.

Huli Mountain Fort - Following that, the guide will accompany you to the Hulishan Battery Scenic Spot, a military outpost from the late Qing dynasty, showcasing cannonry from that era. If time allows, stroll along the Island Ring Road to enjoy the breathtaking seascape and man-made scenery.

Xiamen - Finally, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Xiamen or to the Xiamen airport/train station, concluding the tour services.
