Excellent - Highly recommend this tour. Jimmy Toye was our guide. It was a truly moving experience and I am really grateful to have been able to learn about the history of Derry and Bloody Sunday from someone who lived it. You must do this tour if you visit Derry.

great tour of the Bogside. - did the Bogside History tour with John, Saturday 15th march. what a wonderful tour, over 2 hours of history, being from Dublin we of course have a good understanding of the history of Derry but it makes such a difference getting such detailed information. Billy at the end was an added bonus. So thank you John for your entertaining and informative tour of the Bogside. would highly recommend. Adrian and Marie.

Incredible experience, thank you Macrea! - I had such an incredible experience on this walking tour. The tact, knowledge, personability, humour, articulation from Macrea was wonderful, and I have been tempted to return to Derry just to do this tour again! Seeing and experiencing Derry and The Troubles in this way was something I will never forget. Thank you Macrea, for being so friendly, so wise, and so funny! I hope to see you again!

Derry cultural weekend with the best people . - Jimmy Toye was our guide for this tour what a humble lovey guy , if you want to know what really happened on Bloody Sunday this is a must do , Jimmy witnessed first - hand the atrocities committed that day and gave an honest detailed account of what really happened not the drivel we've been fed over the years , this was definitely the most poignant part of our weekend , a very memorable and emotional tour which me and my friends will never forget . Our sympathies and prayers go out to the victims and families 🙏

Amazing tour & tour guide - Amazing tour by Paul. Sincere empathy for all those impacted by the atrocities, but it was great to see the strong Derry community that has remained. Thank you for the history lesson!

Essential - John was our guide. He proceeded to give is an unhurried and very personal account of one of the darkest days in Irish history. If you take one of these tours you will hear about the events of Bloody Sunday from the horse’s mouth. Do not expect to hear about the events of that day from the point of view of the army - that is for themselves to tell. Overall this was the best walking tour I have ever done and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

One of the best walking tours I have been on - We were ever so lucky today as we had a Bogside tour with Jimmy Toye,Jimmy has seen it all and watched and took part in events, for nearly 2 hours he gave us his thoughts and views and it was not all one sided.Would have to say it was one of the best walking tours I have been on and ever so interesting. If you only do one walking tour in Derry this is the one for you.

Excellent tour would recommend - WOW We did a tour today with Macrea and it was excellent, we would strongly recommend. While we heard about Bloody Sunday and the subsequent enquiries our knowledge was limited. By the end of our tour we felt well educated to the events in the lead up to that day, the events of Sunday 30th January 1972 and the years which followed. Walking the streets where this happened and listening to someone who remembers it as a small boy was both memorising and emotional in equal measures. Agreed this is one side of the story but it is a story which for years was unheard.

Educational to all who attend. - Possibly the best tour we’ve ever been on. A walking tour with Paul Doherty around Derry, Northern Ireland. It’s a must for anyone who’s in the area to stop and take in some history of the area and the tragedies that occurred . Cheers.

Passionate history tour - Coming from England I never fully understood what went down on Bloody Sunday in Derry, Paul Doherty was our guide, his poor Dad was murdered on that day, his tour was very informative, passionate and gave you a real insight of what happened on that day. We walked to the areas of where it all started and went down, stopping to take pictures of the murals that I’ve seen in news clips. The museum is worth a visit and I was glad I did the tour before as it just helped you to understand better. This tour came from the heart so thank you Paul.
