Living History - Being from the Republic and my girlfriend from Australia whose dad was in the British Army at a later period, this was an informative, moving and heartfelt tour through the Bogside. Couldn’t recommend John the tour guide enough- we really appreciated his candour and professionalism when sharing his personal experiences from The Troubles. We also enjoyed his light humour to balance out the heavy themes of the tour! Thank you John 😊

Highly recommend, but not for the faint hearted - We would highly recommend this rivetting historical tour of Derry's early civil rights movement and the bloody anarchy that followed for decades later. But it is not for the faint hearted. Our guide Clarke McCray (spelling?) Was just 5 when things started veering out of control and said he was later forced by the IRA to make petrol bombs in a church when the priest was away on home visits. I can't vouch for the historical accuracy but there are plenty of resources available to do your own digging and fact checks. The walking tour trhough several neighborhoods takes about 80 minutes and the guide is very open to questions.

An emotional tour of Derry with an eye witness - This was an eye opening tour by Jimmy T who walked us through parts of Derry and gave us a first hand account of Bloody Sunday and the Troubles. His passion and emotion was contagious.

History of Bogside and Civil Rights - Took the Bogside walking tour with John. Starting at the Guildhall and finishing at the the Free Derry Museum taking in many murals along the route. John was hugely passionate and informative on the history of Bogside, the Civil Rights movement and the injustice surrounding Bloody Sunday. We have , as a result, a much better understanding and awareness. An excellent tour and we would highly recommend. Thank you.

Hear about the Troubles from someone personally affected - We took this tour with John. Given the topic, it seems wrong to say it was enjoyable, but we certainly got a better understanding of the civil rights movement in Derry, Bloody Sunday and the campaign for justice. Hearing this from someone who was personally affected made it all the more impactful. John was hugely knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer questions.
