Really worthwhile - Brilliant afternoon. Our guide was so knowledgeable and brought all the art to live. They gave us ear pieces which meant you didn’t miss a thing when the guide was talking.

A Brilliant Art Tour — Thanks to Mary’s Passion & Knowledge - I had the wonderful opportunity to be guided by Mary, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. I happened to be the only person booked for this slot, so the tour became a private one — and I am truly grateful for that stroke of luck.
Mary took me on a beautifully structured artistic journey, starting from Gothic paintings and moving through the early, high, and late Renaissance. We explored the Wilton Diptych and admired masterpieces by Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo, and Rubens. From there, we transitioned into the Dutch masters and I learnt why Rembrandt began painting his self-portraits — a fascinating insight.
We then moved to Monet and the beginnings of Impressionism, followed by works of Constable and Turner. The tour concluded with Van Gogh, whose emotions and brushwork are always overwhelming to witness in person.
What made this experience truly special was Mary’s depth of knowledge — she not only explained the artistic techniques but also the historical, cultural, and even financial background of the works. A one-hour tour extended to an enriching 1.5-hour experience, and I walked away feeling both delighted and deeply fulfilled.
Thank you, Mary, for making this one of the most memorable art experiences I’ve ever had.

Great tour - Amazing tour! Go for this 1.5hr one instead of the 1hr one, as its more intimate (only 4 of us on this one) and you get to see more highlights.

All right. - One of the great London art museum, free and in equally impressive surroundings.
The museum is organized by historical sections, which helps if you are not interested in painting of this or that period. Moreover, as admission is free, bones of regret to go directly to the sections that interest you.
We bought a plan, but the information on it was really limited to the congruous portion, we would have appended a little more detail to spot directly the painters on display in the many rooms.

Travel to London - The National Gallery of London is one of the most iconic museums in the world, with a vast collection of European paintings spanning the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Its rooms allow you to appreciate masterpieces by artists such as Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Rembrandt and Velázquez, in a space accessible and free for all. It is a must for art, history and culture lovers, located in the heart of Trafalgar Square, vibrant heart of the city.

Guided tour with Sarah wood - You are in for a real treat with an incredible and passionate guide in Sarah Wood. She was knowledgeable and friendly and took us on a historical tour of a selection of paintings through the ages. Sarah was patient with all our questions and connected the painting to broader themes of culture, Religion and politics of the day. We thoroughly recommend this tour.

Fantastic place to spend a day - My oldest daughter asked to visit the gallery as a treat for her birthday. She studies art in college. I was amazed by the fact there are 3 restaurants and a 2 cafes there. The gallery is magnificent, clean and very well organised, with stunning paintings. My favourite part is the paintings from the Bible! However you can find variety of pictures, there is everything for everyone! The sweets and coffee at the Giorgio bar were great. Very clean toilets. I recommend 2 days so everything at the gallery, 1 is not enough. Fantastic choice on a rainy day! And it is free! The items at the gift shop are overpriced though. All in all it’s worth the visit!

Excellent guide, however, 25 in a group is too much! - My guide was great, and I think her name was “Flix”, or perhaps “Flick”?. She was very enthusiastic and excited about giving the tour and she did a great job. The issue which Viator has to correct is that we had over 25 people show up for the tour and that is simply too many for a Saturday at 2 pm!
There were too many people in the museum already making it difficult to follow a tour leader. Maybe it is better to limit the number of visitors. Many people in attendance, including young people and children were not engaged, but rather milling about taking cellphone pics. Museums aren’t for everyone.
The tour guide was an excellent leader though, and I appreciate her work!

Be aware if you have a small suitcase under the seat size you will still not be able to leave in cloak rooms, - Unclear description of size of bags/ small case to store in cloakroom before you visit nothing on website, and not told as I was. In the Que, as a solo traveller with small case on their own refused entry after bought audio tour and donated , staff very rude and off with me and not helpful I felt very embarrassed and disappointed
