Buckingham Palace - Most of our tours feature a visit to Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of His Majesty The King and arguably the most renowned royal palace globally. Typically, we allocate about 15 minutes here for you to capture photos and appreciate the magnificence of this landmark.

Outside the palace, the Victoria Memorial stands as a stunning tribute to Queen Victoria, surrounded by ornate gates and gardens, making it one of the most photographed locations in London. Depending on your tour’s timing, you might also witness the Changing of the Guard — a vibrant display of military precision and tradition that attracts visitors worldwide.

St. James’s Palace - Many of our tours include a stop at St. James’s Palace, a functioning royal residence and one of London’s oldest, dating back to the 1500s. We usually pause for about 15 minutes so you can take photos and soak in the atmosphere of this historic site. Nearby, in St. James’s Park, you might spot the pink pelicans — first gifted to King Charles II in the 17th century by the Russian ambassador, and still a beloved feature of the park today.

Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall - Our tours often pass by the Horse Guards Parade, a grand parade ground used for royal ceremonies such as Trooping the Colour. If you wish to stop for photos, please let us know. You will see mounted cavalry on duty, and if the timing is right, you may even witness the daily Changing of the Guard — a uniquely British spectacle of precision and tradition.

Houses of Parliament - The Palace of Westminster, commonly known as the Houses of Parliament, is one of London’s most impressive and historically significant landmarks. Home to the House of Commons and the House of Lords, it has been the center of political life in Britain for centuries. Built in the Gothic Revival style, the building’s intricate towers, arches, and riverside setting make it a highlight of any London tour.

We’ll usually pause here for about 10 minutes, allowing you time to take photos of its grand façade from the best vantage points along the Thames. Your driver will also share fascinating stories about how this iconic building has witnessed everything from royal ceremonies to fiery debates that have shaped the nation’s history.

Big Ben - Officially named the Elizabeth Tower, Big Ben is perhaps London’s most famous landmark. Completed in 1859, its 96-meter clock tower rises proudly above the Palace of Westminster and is admired worldwide for its ornate Gothic Revival design. The nickname “Big Ben” originally referred to the Great Bell inside the tower, whose hourly chimes have become a sound synonymous with London.
Westminster Abbey - Westminster Abbey is one of London’s most cherished landmarks, with a history spanning over a thousand years. This magnificent Gothic church has been the setting for every English and British coronation since 1066, as well as royal weddings and state funerals. Its soaring architecture, intricate stonework, and beautiful stained-glass windows make it both a masterpiece of design and a living place of worship.

We’ll usually pause here for about 10 minutes so you can take photos of the grand façade and learn about its remarkable past. Inside lie the tombs and memorials of monarchs, poets, and scientists, making it a true resting place of British history. Even from the outside, the Abbey radiates a sense of grandeur and tradition that no London visit would be complete without.

Trafalgar Square - As we journey through central London, we’ll drive past Trafalgar Square — one of the city’s most vibrant public spaces. Dominated by Nelson’s Column and guarded by four famous bronze lions, the square is a gathering place for celebrations, events, and London life. From your taxi, you’ll also see the fountains, the National Gallery, and the many statues that make this spot a true cultural hub.

Please note: as this is a pass-by location, we won’t be stopping here, but you’ll have a great view from the comfort of your black taxi.

Downing Street - We’ll also pass by Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister. Number 10, with its black front door and white numbering, is one of the most famous addresses in the world. Although the street itself is gated and guarded, you’ll still be able to glimpse the entrance from your taxi while learning about its history and role at the heart of British politics.

Please note: as this is a drive-by location, we won’t be stopping here, but you’ll have a clear view from the comfort of your black taxi.

St. Paul’s Cathedral - Designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Its magnificent dome dominates the skyline and has witnessed countless state occasions, including royal weddings and national services of remembrance.

On our tours, we usually allow about 5 minutes here for photos of the grand western façade and its striking dome. Even a brief stop gives you the chance to admire this masterpiece of Baroque architecture and hear some of the fascinating stories behind it.

Tower of London - At the heart of the Thames stands the legendary Tower of London, a fortress that has guarded the city for nearly a thousand years. Famous as the home of the Crown Jewels, it has also been a royal palace, a prison, and even a zoo. Its ancient stone walls and dramatic history make it one of London’s most fascinating landmarks.

Right beside it rises Tower Bridge, London’s most iconic crossing. Completed in 1894, its twin towers and elegant bascules are instantly recognizable around the world. Whether raised for passing ships or beautifully lit at night, Tower Bridge is a true symbol of the city.

On our tours, we usually allow about 10 minutes here so you can capture photos of both the fortress and the bridge from some of the best viewing points along the river.

Mind-Blowing London Experience with Elite Black Taxi Tours - As a long-term Platinum travel agent who has traveled extensively around the world, my standards are high—especially when time is limited. My husband and I had just one overnight in London back in October and wanted to truly maximize the experience. Gary was a hoot. I thought my husband was a history buff—until we met Gary. He was flexible, a great listener, and had an impressive collection of personal and professional photos related to historic and current events right at his fingertips. He even shared personal stories about his family, which made the experience feel incredibly authentic and meaningful. To top it all off, Gary dropped us directly at the airport for our departure flight, making the entire experience completely seamless and stress-free from start to finish. Perfect way to see London - We booked Elite Black Taxi Tours for a day out in London as a couple, and it was honestly one of the best experiences we've had in the city. From the moment we were picked up, we felt completely looked after. Our driver was warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable – the kind of guide who instantly makes you feel like you’re exploring the city with a friend rather than on a tour. We visited all the famous sights – Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, and Tower Bridge – but it was the little hidden backstreets, quirky stories, bits of history that made our tour so special. The taxi itself was clean and so comfortable, and the glass roof gave us amazing views of the buildings and skyline as we drove through the city. We never felt rushed – we could stop for photos whenever we wanted, and our driver even offered to take some pictures of us together (rare when you travel as a couple!). To finish the day, our driver recommended a traditional spot for proper fish and chips, which was absolutely perfect. If you’re visiting London this tour is worth every penny. Personal, relaxed, and full of memories we’ll treasure.
