Locorotondo is renowned as one of the most stunning viewpoints in the Murgia of Trulli, Puglia, known for its traditional local houses. The historic center is circular in shape, featuring elegant architecture and distinctive colors: white is predominant among the houses, churches, and buildings, enhanced by the vibrant hues of flowers.
The guided tour starts at Piazza Antonio Mitrano and proceeds into the historic center, where two large columns signify the ancient Porta Napoli. From this point, following the itinerary, visitors can admire structures such as the former town hall, now the Communal Library, with its simple historic façade and elegant entrance, the Baroque Morelli Palace, with its magnificent portal and small wrought-iron balconies, and finally the Mother Church.
Dedicated to St. George, the church was constructed in 1790 on the site of three earlier churches dedicated to the same saint. Amidst white houses adorned with deep red geraniums and colorful flowers blooming in every corner, Locorotondo emerges as an authentic and enchanting village.
