- Lap An Lagoon - Lap An Lagoon is a tranquil brackish water lagoon situated between Hue and Da Nang, near the base of the Hai Van Pass. Encircled by mountains and facing the sea, it is renowned for its mirror-like water surface, particularly at sunset. Visitors can savor fresh seafood, capture breathtaking photos, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of central Vietnam.
- Hue Imperial City (The Citadel) - Explore the Citadel, Hue’s main attraction, which includes the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor’s Private Residence.
- Thien Mu Pagoda - The next destination is the Thien Mu Pagoda, often regarded as the unofficial emblem of Hue. To reach the Pagoda, visitors can take a local Dragon Boat and cruise along the Perfume River.
Thien Mu is an active Buddhist monastery with roots dating back to 1601. One of its most moving exhibits is a car belonging to a former monk who, in 1963, drove to Saigon and self-immolated to protest the South Vietnamese regime’s harsh treatment of Buddhist monks and followers.
- Tomb of Khai Dinh - The tour continues to the magnificent Khai Dinh Tomb. Among the seven significant imperial tombs along the Perfume River and surrounding countryside, this tomb stands out for its unique blend of Western and Eastern architecture. Constructed for Khải Định, the twelfth Emperor of the Nguyễn dynasty, it was built from 1920 to 1931, taking 11 years to complete. Located on a steep hill outside Hue’s capital city, Khai Dinh’s royal tomb is not wheelchair-accessible and has many stairs, so alternative arrangements can be made for those with mobility challenges.
