Exceptional service, great itinerary, skillful driver and guide. - My husband began planning our trip to Sri Lanka a year ago and after researching a number of the tour companies selected BH Lanka. We contracted for a 17 day tour with a private driver and guide. Throughout the pre-trip communications. Sanju at BH Lanka responded immediately and was very helpful and professional. At one point, we were concerned about the flooding and cyclone destruction in Sri Lanka but Sanju reassured us that the infrastructure would be repaired by the time we arrived, and it was. The hotels and itinerary that Sanju set up were great. We also thank him for selecting an exceptional driver and guide for us.
We were met at the airport in Colombo by our driver, Chanuka Weersinghe. From our very first greeting, we felt at ease with him. He was so friendly, fluent in English, accommodating our needs with a smile and a sense of humour. As we proceeded through our 17 day journey, we also appreciated his exceptional driving skill (traffic can be crazy!), his knowledge of his country and ability to select the best timing and perspectives in all of the historical and natural sites that we visited. For example, Chanuka made sure that our routing missed the worst heat of the day, or if we were on a hike (9kms through Hortons Plains!), that the final part was mostly downhill and in the shade. Thank you Chanuka!!
The beauty of the country and the friendliness of the people draw you to Sri Lanka. As experienced travelers, we notice when the presentation of that beauty is brought to the next level by the itinerary and guide. We took home fond memories of Sri Lanka and the credit goes to BH Lanka and Chanuka Weersinghe. .

Tour of Sri Lanka with BH Lanka and Bhathi - We have had an excellent tour to Sri Lanka with BH Lanka but what made it exceptional was our guide Bhathi. The organisation of the tour was first rate, we had 19 days and so we were able to add some time into Trincomalee on the east coast, through Galle on the south and up to Colombo on the west coast taking in cultural sites, safaris and whale watching. When organising the holiday, BH Lanka suggested an itinerary that we were able to tweak to be able to cover all the things we wanted to see and do.
Throughout the tour, Bhathi really looked after us, imparting his knowledge of the sites we visited and talking to us about life in Sri Lanka. He also has a lot of contacts in the places we visited and made sure we had the best seats in the house at the cultural show and on the whale watching boat. He was friendly from the beginning and we became firm friends during our tour. He also took time to teach us some of the Sinhala language, which we appreciated. He takes lots of photos that he shared with us and we always felt safe when he was driving on the interesting and challenging Sri Lankan roads!

Amazing tour with outstanding guide - We usually book tours through a UK operator but thought to try something different this time. BH Lanka had good reviews and were able to offer a more bespoke service. My contact was Chamini who was very patient and helpful as we defined our itinerary. Chamini was also able to reassure us that Sri Lanka was ‘open for business’ following the devastating cyclone. Our tour included the cultural triangle, the eastern and southern coasts and Colombo and we had 3 safaris too. Our favourite hotels were in Sigiriya (Kassapa Lions Rock) and Yala (Chaarya Resort). We found the hotel in Ella (Flower Garden Resort) a bit soulless but it was redeemed by the most fantastic view from the room.
However the holiday has been made by our guide Bathi. He has gone above and beyond to ensure that our experience of Sri Lanka will be unforgettable. He is extremely knowledgeable and has imparted this knowledge with patience and good humour. When we expressed an interest in the commonwealth war graves he made sure we were able to visit in both Trincomalee and Kandy. On safari he was invaluable in making sure that we had front row views of all the animals - his prayer to the leopard gods worked too. He is also an avid photographer and has shared these with us throughout. Driving in Sri Lanka is an art and not for the faint hearted - we felt safe with Bathi at all times. We will leave Sri Lanka with a smattering of the language courtesy of our daily lesson. The word I will remember though is lassanayi - it means beautiful and Sri Lanka lives up to this in spades.

6 Day Tour - I have had a wonderful time travelling around seeing the many parts of Sri Lanka and coming here that was my goal to see as much sightseeing as possible.
This tour allows just that and despite staying in each area for a short amount of time (for a 6 day tour) it has still allowed for the experience of many areas from safaris, to turtle hatchery, the Sigiriya rock fortress, Nine Arches Bridge, Whale watching, herb gardens, tea plantations Ayurveda treatments to allow some relaxation, and many more! Thank you for this opportunity to be able to see so many parts of Sri Lanka spaced out far apart from each other over a majority of distance in such a short amount of time! My tour driver has also been very professional and enabled me to get to and from each area safely! Thank you! The only thing I would do differently and would recommend for future travellers is to do the tour for longer to allow for a bit more time to be able to enjoy between each stay before moving onto the next part. Otherwise a very good tour to see many parts of this beautiful country if like myself you have no other option and are limited for time.

The experience we had could not be better - We had a fantastic time, our driver Ravi could not be any better, he was there for us on time any time and would make sure we could see everything we wanted. we had a few long days however this was needed to see everything and to beat the crowds and out of the heat. Every night we would be dropped off at beautiful hotels, so we could have a swim after the excellent days of sight seeing. The experience we had could not be better from visiting temples, forts both a safari and river safari and a sea cruise (seeing Leopards, wild elephants whales, and dolphins and a variety of colorful birds. The travelling through the mountains was extraordinary and visiting colonial and modern cities.

Simply fantastic - Simply terrific. Chanuka our driver was extremely friendly and accommodating. he had a wealth of knowledge and looked after the four of us with great care. He was allways on time and wonderfully seemed to sense when we wanted to rest. There was no stress for the entire trip and we were all relaxed in Chanuka’s company. Great and safe driver and the car supplied was large and comfortable. The selection of hotels were of a high quality as were the meals although the continual evening buffets were a bit hard to take, Really enjoyed the one a la cart meal we had. Recommend the company and especially the driver Chanuka

Excellent tour with BH Lanka - Review of Sri Lanka Tour
We retained BH Lanka tours to arrange a tour of Sri Lanka. We added a few days to the 15 day tour to take a couple of extra safaris and to have more time in Galle and Colombo. The tour went well, and we saw most of the amazing sights of Sri Lanka.
Our guide was Mr. Bathiya (Batty) who was extremely knowledgeable, and very energetic. He was also quite a versatile photographer, and we have a set of more than 100 pictures which he took for us and sent to us via Whatsapp. He was also on some of the safaris and has an excellent eye for wildlife.
I would note that Sri Lanka driving is not for the faint of heart, and we were happy that Batty drove effectively with knowledge of the local customs. Sri Lanka driving wasn’t dangerous but the customs are completely different than on North American highways, as are the distances between oncoming cars.
It must be said that all this was done starting 3.5 weeks after the worst cyclone in the history of Sri Lanka (Nov 25 cyclone and we started our tour Dec 19). Batty had to reschedule some of our activities to avoid those things that were inaccessible, or questionable.
One thing travellers should be aware of is that finding credible restaurants outside the hotel is trickier than you would think based on experience in Europe or America. There are some great restaurants and many that just scrape by. It’s hard to distinguish between those two categories. It’s easy to get a Tuk-Tuk to take you there and back if you do find a credible outside restaurant (negotiate Tuk-Tuk fares in advance).
In Galle fort or downtown Ella or in Negombo there are more credible outside restaurants than in many of the places one stays on the trip. In the end we did a lot each day and we were tired so we almost always ate at our hotel.
We did have some very good lunches at restaurants which do a reasonable volume business for a combination of Sri Lankan and tourist customers.
Notable sights were: 2 Safaris in Wilpattu, one in Minneraya, one in Yala, and one it Udawale, the temples of Anuradhapura, the temples of Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya rock fortress,the cave temples of Dambulla (this is an underrated sight), the Kandy Botanical garden, the Temple of Tooth Relic, the tea farms, our traditional village visit and meal, the train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella (this is highly touted and it’s actually even better than expected), Galle Fort, the 9 Arch bridge, Minneriya Safari, yala Safari, Udawalale Safari, Waterfalls
We strongly recommend travelling with Batty and BH Lanka.

Sri Lanka Tour November 2025 - We have just completed a 6 night/ 7 day tour of Sri Lanka with our private guide / driver Sidath from BH Lanka tours.
From start to finish the tour was extremely well organised and all the included hotels had something special about them.
Our guide Sidath was amazing professional, knowledgeable and included lots of added extras that made the trip especially memorable.

Great round trip in a dreamlike landscape - We did a week tour in Sri Lanka. Since we already knew a lot, we told the agency beforehand which places and sights we would like to visit this time. We were put together a great tour and everything was well organized. We had very nice hotels and one very good driver who took us safely everywhere. A guide accompanied and informed us.
