- Bled Island - Enjoy a personalized small group tour with a well-organized schedule. An experienced local tour operator’s chauffeur guide will pick you up from a specified location for an enlightening hourly journey to the picturesque Alpine region to explore Bled.
Upon arrival, you will be taken to the top of a steep cliff over 100 meters above the lake, where Bled Castle stands with its towers, ramparts, moats, and a terrace offering breathtaking views. The castle is home to a special treasure - a reconstructed Gutenberg wooden printing press, where the master printer will showcase ancient printing techniques using handmade paper. Gain valuable insights into the Slovenian language and the first printed Slovenian book.
At the lake’s edge, board a ‘pletna,’ a traditional handmade wooden boat, to reach the lake island. Rowers still use manpower as in the past, enhancing your memorable experience. The small, tear-shaped island invites you from the shore, and the ‘pletna’ boat ride is truly exhilarating. Climb 99 steps and ring a bell to make your wishes come true.
Take a leisurely stroll along the lake shore. The beauty of the surrounding mountains is mirrored on the lake’s surface. Visitors can enjoy the lake’s rhythm and fresh air throughout the year.
After returning from the island, stop at a local patisserie for a break and savor Bled’s renowned cream cake – kremšnita. Over the past 60 years, 12 million cream cakes have been sold. Try it for yourself.
After a delightful half-day experience, we will head back to Ljubljana.
Drop-off will be at the same location as pick-up.
