A Warm Welcome to Mukuni Village

As a wildlife photographer with a deep love for Africa, I have always been drawn to the authentic experiences that allow me to connect with the land and its people. My recent visit to Mukuni Village in Livingstone, Zambia, was no exception. The village, nestled close to the majestic Victoria Falls, offers a unique glimpse into the daily lives of the Leya people, a community that has thrived here for generations.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm smiles and open arms. The villagers were eager to share their stories, traditions, and crafts. Unlike other villages that have been reconstructed for tourists, Mukuni is a living, breathing community. I was invited into their homes, where I learned about traditional building techniques and the significance of their decorations. The craftsmanship was astounding, with artisans skillfully creating beautiful pieces of art and functional items from natural materials.

The Majestic Victoria Falls
