- Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço) - The Praça do Comércio, known in English as Commerce Square, is a spacious square facing the harbor in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.
Facing south towards the Tagus River (Tejo), this city square is often referred to as Terreiro do Paço (Palace Yard) because it was the site of the Paços da Ribeira (Royal Ribeira Palace) until it was destroyed by the devastating 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Following the earthquake, the square was entirely redesigned as part of the reconstruction of the Pombaline Downtown, commissioned by Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, the 1st Marquis of Pombal, who served as the chief Minister of Portugal from 1750 to 1777, during the reign of King Dom José I of Portugal.
- Torre de Belém - The Belém Tower, officially known as the Tower of Saint Vincent (Portuguese: Torre de São Vicente), is a 16th-century fortification situated in Lisbon. It served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. Constructed during the peak of the Portuguese Renaissance, it is a notable example of the Portuguese Manueline style, while also incorporating elements of other architectural styles. The structure is made from lioz limestone and consists of a bastion and a 30-meter (98.4 ft), four-story tower.
