Fantastic free walking tour of Lisbon with Jimmy (Jamie) - Our free walking tour of Lisbon was with Jimmy (Jamie) on Thursday, November 20. It was fantastic. Jimmy is steeped in history, culture, art, religion--in Lisbon, Portugal and beyond--and he generously shared that with us during the 2+ hours. He also gladly shared tips on restaurants, sites, neighborhoods etc. He was passionate and engaging. We highly recommend.

Great way to start your stay in Lisbon - Lovely walking tour of Lisbon with Jimmy. Our family really enjoyed his calm and knowledgeable presence. Highly recommended especially on your first day in the city. It gives you a really good overview of the city especially parts of the city we might not have visited. We learned more from Jimmy than any of the other sites we visited on our trip. Keep up the good work.

Loved the Alfama walking tour in Lisbon with Antonio - We did the Alfama walking tour in Lisbon, and our guide Antonio was amazing! Very knowledgeable, and gave us a local perspective. He also gave his contact information after the tour to give additional recommendations for restaurants and activities. Would definitely recommend!

VLADO, VLADO, VLADO - Lisbon is beautiful and what we liked most about this tour was having had the opportunity to tour it with Vlado. He’s funny, smart, interesting, knows a lot and doesn’t have a script he’s repeating: he shares his knowledge freshly and authentically and it was a pleasure to have been lucky enough to be our guide.

Excellent way to start a Lisbon trip! - The guide, Antonio, made it a really great experience. Well-paced and well-planned tour! We visited many iconic spots throughout the city. Antonio was super friendly, helpful, and gave us both historical and contemporary insights into Lisbon and Portugal. We were grateful for the advice he shared about tourist traps to avoid, and the generous tips regarding the best spots to visit!

Bruno was a brilliant guide! - I did two tours in one day - the city essentials one in the morning and the Alfama one in the afternoon. Both were two of the best tours I’ve been on and Bruno was a brilliant guide - warm, inviting and very knowledgable. The tours kept to their allocated times and were very interesting. Particularly loved the Alfama tour and would reccomend to anyone. As a solo traveller it was also a great way to meet others and I ended up going for lunch and then out at night with people I met on the tour.

Not the Best Use of Two and a Half Hours - I joined the tour with Jimmy today. To be fair, he’s very knowledgeable about Lisbon’s history and culture, and his English is excellent. But the actual route felt underwhelming and didn’t really capture the highlights of the city.
Because the group was so large, his voice kept fading in and out as he spoke left and right, which made it hard to follow. Almost like listening to a radio cutting in and out. I also wish he had given more context at each stop, like which neighborhood we were in, what makes it special, and what else there is to see nearby. The information he shared felt scattered rather than structured, and some major Lisbon highlights were left out.
Of course, you can always visit these spots on your own. But with a professional guide and an established tour organization, I expected more depth and engagement. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like the two and a half hours were not well spent. I would have preferred to explore the city at my own pace and cover more ground.
Overall, after joining many tours in different cities, I’d rate this one as average at best. If you haven’t planned anything at all, it might work as a starting point. But if you’ve done even a little research, you can probably skip it and discover Lisbon on your own.

They didn't honor reservation and bad treatment. - We made two independent bookings with Sandemans Lisboa and both were confirmed. Upon arrival, the guide Antonio demanded that we pay €13 per person on a mandatory basis, citing “group policy”. That is, Sandemans confirms your free booking and then on the street tries to force an extra payment that never figured in the booking.
The Enterprise acknowledged to us in writing that this “should not have happened this way”, but offered no real solution.
The worst: Antonio’s insolent and inflexible treatment, which ruined the experience and stained the image of the Enterprise.
⚠️ Warning: if you book with friends or family separately, they may pressure you with a last minute windfall.
