Fantastic tour with generous tastings - We had a wonderful experience on this tour. There were only four of us, so it felt like a private tour. Our guide, Christie, was passionate, considerate, and very knowledgeable. She shared many pieces of local wisdom that helped us understand daily life here. She also recommended great restaurants and kindly reviewed our list of places to visit. The food, beer, and wine were offered generously and we were so full after the tour that we could hardly eat dinner. Highly recommend.

Great way to get a taste of the culture and history of Lisbon - Davide was an excellent guide, and we loved tasting all the highlights of Lisbon. It was a great mix of history, culture and delicious food. Miguel is the unofficial mayor of Lisbon. It was such an easy and fun introduction to the city. I've saved lots of notes for my next trip.

The perfect arrival day experience - The perfect arrival day experience! We knew we’d arrive tired and jet lagged, but didn’t want to lose a day to exploring the city. This food and tuk tuk tour with David and Miguel was the perfect way to keep us awake, engaged and exploring Lisbon without having to think! I loved that we got a lay of the land of the city - and got to experience some truly local spots. The wine additions were so tasty and the history knowledge brought Lisbon to life. It’s also just a fun way to get to know some locals! Highly recommend!

Tough start to a great tour. - Our tour started off terribly. We drove in from out of town and despite leaving early enough to park by 9am for our 10am tour, we got caught in a long traffic jam. I was in constant communication with the company. We parked around 950 and let the company know and walked to the meeting place. We got to the meeting place around 1003. Then they informed that the tour had already left and we could catch up to the tour. They sent a link on google map that did not walk us to the right place. We spent about 15 minutes trying to find the first stop. I was focused on finding the address(we were close) and the guide with a purple bag. We eventually connected (the guide was not wearing the purple bag, so we lost that visual cue- it was off to the side with a backpack. But, at last we were able to connect with the guide. Happy days, but oh so STRESSFUL starting at 0815 when we got into the traffic jam. It would have been nice of the tour company to hold the tour at the meeting place to wait for us, since we told them we were parked and on foot and heading to the meeting place. That said, once we decompressed we had a lovely tour. There were three other ladies on our tour. The fist stop we had a classic pork sandwich. My group loved the fresh-baked bread. We also sampled some green wine which was tasty. Next was the tuk tuk ride, where we split into 2 tuk tuks. Our guide was very personable and answered all of our questions along the way. After the tuk tuk, it was back to the food tour. We walked to a shop that served us a flight of three cheeses, some bread, and some pumpkin jam. Delicious. We also had the ubiquitous vegetable soup (possibly the National dish of Portugal - I’ve had it twice since this tour) which we very much enjoyed. Next up, we went to a fish place. We had octopus salad (yum - my first time eating octopus) and salt cod prepared a Bras (served with shredded potatoes) that was very mild and surprisingly not salty at all. They also gave the table a bottle of the owner’s red wine vintage to share. Last stop - pasteis de nata fresh and hot from the shop with just the right of cinnamon added by our guide. Divine! The pigeon at our feet snatched up all the yummy crumbs of the ultra flaky pastry. These would have merited a Paul Hollywood handshake (IYKYK). Lastly, the tour does not end where it begins, and we were trying to figure out how to get back to the starting point from whence we could find our car. Our very kind guide walked us in the right direction, pointed out instructions, and we made it back to our car on foot just fine. Thank you Gabi for the tour and conversation. Now, even 3 days later, we are talking about things you told us. We appreciate you very much. PSA - be sure you pay to park. It isn’t always obvious, but there’s no such thing as free parking in Portugal around the tourist sites. We got socked with a $30 parking ticket in Obidos the next day. The signs weren’t clear at all, but we sure learned our lesson.
