Travelling around Lisbon - We purchased the 48-hour pass and did both the Red Route and the Green Route — and we definitely got our money’s worth. It’s such a great way to see Lisbon and all the main attractions, especially if you’re short on time. There are stops at all the key points, making it really easy to hop on and off whenever you want. We started each day at Praça Marquês de Pombal, which was very convenient for us. Just a small tip — sometimes the buses only stop for a split second, so you need to be ready to hop off quickly when it’s your stop. A great bonus is that you can download the app, which allows you to see which buses are nearby, locate the nearest stop, and check the timetables. It made planning our day much easier. Another perk is that the pass includes discounts at selected places. We visited Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon and received a discount just by showing our bus ticket. Overall, a fantastic and convenient way to explore the city — highly recommended!

Hop on hop off bus do not loose your ticket - Please update your ticket system and issue a QR code or digital ticket, yesterday 21st Feb at Segrada Familia at 11. 40am I baught a 48hrs pas, and halfway through yesterday I dropped the ticket therefore I came back to where I started, showed the receipt of payment, map issued by them but was told they cannot help but I would have repurchase the ticket. There it really not fair that this day and age. Please issue a digital ticket or QR code. Therefore no body looses a ticket just like Sagrada Familia does

There are other better options - We hired him before arriving in Lisbon with my husband and a 10-year-old baby, he has 3 routes the green (center) the red (historic part) and the blue (the modern part) we only did the first two, it takes quite a while the tour and the audio infoma very little, there are other options such as gulf carts that run the whole part of the center enter minimum 4 people and has a value of €40, in front of these is that the truth I do not recommend the bus

OK hop on hop off - This was ok at best. If you use it be sure to hit the stops in order along the bus route because the loops take a long time. I went to 2 stops on 1 route then had to go all the way to the end and wait about 45 minutes for the bus to take the other route to go to the last stop I wanted to hit. I used it mainly because it was raining the day I used it and figured it would get me closer to the stops than the taking public transport. The audio portion was average at best. I had already been in Lisbon for 5 days so it didn't add much to what I had already learned.

Better tour companies - I'll start with a positive: Loads of different lines to choose from. It's difficult to get all done in 2 days unless you are keen on missing a line out. Cons: - I felt the audio didn't line up with the tour and not all stops were announced meaning you missed audio or missed a stop because it potentially was announced after you took off again. I've never had this issue with City Sightseeing. - Drivers enjoyed breaking late. On many occasions we had to hold on to prevent being thrown forward. On one occasion, the driver stopped suddenly where due care and attention wasn't being taken and a pedestrian was nearly knocked down at a pedestrian crossing. The driver had to talk to the pedestrian out the window to ensure they were ok. - Finally the walking tour QR code wasn't working. I emailed to receive the correct link, however I received no response.

Disappointed - We are normally big fans of hop-on hop-off bus tours especially when we first get to a new city and want to get the lay of the land. This tour was somewhat disappointing. We rode three different routes, green, and blue. The devices for the narration were hit and miss, and we had to hunt working ones down. This was true on each of the three sperate busses that we took. When we finally found working boxes, the narration volume and the background music volume varied widely. At points if you turned down the music volume, you couldn't hear the narration and at other points the opposite was true. Some stops were announced but many were not and we had to pay attention to our maps to get off at the correct stop. The actual narration did not synch with the drive and there were few details. Some of the narration was repeated on each of the line despite separate itineraries. We know that February is off season but 40 minutes between busses seems like a long time especially at some of the smaller stops where only a quick photo is all you would accomplish.

Wouldn’t use this service again. - Night tour runs too late for old people like me. Boats are open to the cold air in the winter. Buses don’t have enough covered seating. Was denied seating on two consecutive buses on the castle route (smaller buses) and gave up and called an Uber ride.

Don't bother!! - Don't bother doing this. The public transport is so much cheaper and covers all the tourist areas. We wasted so much money on the 48hr ticket and only got on 2 buses. The audio rarely works/gets cut off/isn't very interesting, the buses are infrequent or late, the drivers are rude, the QR tickets don't work. I wish we'd not bothered and just gone on the metro or walked. Save your money!!

Disappointing! - We have enjoyed many Open Top bus tours around the world but unfortunately this was one of the worst. We purchased tickets at the cruise ship terminal and were told that only the Blue route started from there but we could change to the more interesting red route at stop one. Thinking stop one would be the first we thought it wouldn't take long to change, however stop one turned out to be around 14 stops in and took over an hour before we could change after travelling around the most boring route with a driver who just seemed intent on getting home for his lunch. Finally we boarded the red route which although was a little more interesting was uninformative and again dragged on.
