Located at an elevation of 7,200 feet, Kiambethu was purchased and cultivated by AB McDonell in 1910. He was the pioneer in growing, producing, and selling tea commercially in Kenya, which is now one of the country’s major exports. The farm has been home to five generations and is currently managed by his granddaughter, Fiona Vernon. The farmhouse is nestled within beautiful gardens, surrounded by vast tea fields and native forest, which is home to the Colobus monkey and a variety of other wildlife.
