As the sun began to rise over Lima, I found myself eagerly anticipating the adventure that lay ahead. The bustling cityscape gradually faded into the background as our journey southward commenced. The transition from urban sprawl to the vast, open desert was a sight to behold, a reminder of the diverse landscapes that Peru has to offer. Our first stop was the historic Hacienda San José, a place steeped in the complex tapestry of Peru’s colonial past.
