- Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas - Known in English as the St. Francis Monastery, this church and convent were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991. It houses a renowned library with approximately 25,000 ancient texts, and beneath it, an estimated equal number of people were laid to rest in the catacombs. Visitors can explore the once-hidden passages and view the uniquely displayed remains of early Limeños.
- Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - Spend a few moments in the vibrant heart of Lima. The Plaza de Armas hosts the Presidential Palace, Arch Bishop’s Palace, Cathedral, and Municipal buildings, often bustling with people and various forms of entertainment.
- Museo Larco - Situated atop a seventh-century pyramid, this vice-royal mansion is a must-see with its beautifully maintained gardens. Visitors will find themselves taking as many photos of the grounds as of the relics inside. This part of the tour includes fascinating history, a collection of 45,000 antiquities, and an intriguing erotic collection (this room can be skipped if touring with younger children).
Afterwards, enjoy a delightful lunch surrounded by colorful gardens on the museum cafe’s outdoor patio.
- Huaca Pucllana - A brief stop to view Lima’s most famous solid pyramid, used as a ceremonial site by the Lima culture from 200 to 700 AD. The site is observed from the outside, without a full tour.
- El Parque del Amor - An artistic park located on the seaside cliffs of Miraflores. Watch the paragliders soaring overhead and local young couples strolling along paths dedicated to lovers. It’s a perfect spot for a quick photo with a loved one!
- Miraflores - Experience the modern side of Lima with its ocean views and beautiful parks. This part of the tour includes stops at Huaca Pucllana and Parque de Amor (Love Park).
- Morro Solar - At approximately 251 meters above sea level, enjoy a stunning view of the Pacific Coastline, Chorrillos Bay, and the shanty towns below. Often overlooked on other tours, this can be the highlight of ours!
