MIRAFLORES – PACHACAMAC

Next, we will head south of Lima using private tourist transportation (approximately 1 hour).

• Museo de Sitio y Santuario Arqueologico de Pachacamac - During this visit, we will explore the Site Museum within the Sanctuary of Pachacámac, showcasing a remarkable collection of over 290 archaeological artifacts crafted from ceramics, wood, and textiles.

Among the most notable items is the iconic “Idol of Pachacámac,” a figure of significant historical and spiritual relevance in pre-Hispanic culture. During the visit, we will tour the Museo de Sitio located inside the Sanctuary of Pachacámac, where a valuable collection of more than 290 archaeological pieces elaborated in ceramics, wood, and textiles is displayed.

Among the most representative pieces is the emblematic “Idol of Pachacámac,” a figure of great historical and spiritual importance in pre-Hispanic culture.

• Pachacamac - Continuing the tour, we will visit the Acllahuasi, known as the “Temple of the Virgins of the Sun,” a sacred area where women chosen for their expertise in textiles, gastronomy, and other specialized crafts resided, serving the Inca Empire. This Acllahuasi was one of the most significant on the Peruvian coast.

During the visit, we will also admire the various structures that form this impressive archaeological complex, showcasing the influence of different cultures such as Lima, Wari, Ichma, and Inca. Each culture left a valuable architectural legacy, demonstrating their adaptability and development in the challenging coastal desert environment.

• Pachacamac - After exploring the sacred sites at the sanctuary’s base, we will ascend a ramp leading to the magnificent “Temple of the Sun,” considered the jewel of Pachacámac.

We will then tour its surroundings to admire this majestic structure, also known as “Punchao Kancha.” Constructed entirely of adobe, it is regarded as one of the largest temples on the Peruvian coast, reflecting the high level of organization and construction skills of the cultures that inhabited this significant ceremonial center.

• Miraflores - PACHACAMAC – MIRAFLORES (45 minutes) Finally, we will descend to board our vehicle and return to your hotels or meeting points.
