Journey to Marcahuasi and Overnight Camping

Miraflores - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Lima to begin the journey to San Pedro de Casta via tourist transport. The approximately 3-hour drive offers breathtaking Andean landscapes, with brief stops for photos and stretching.

Upon arrival at San Pedro de Casta (3,180 meters above sea level), a charming village in the Lima mountain range, guests will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring regional cuisine. After lunch, there will be a short break and an opportunity for last-minute purchases, such as snacks or water.

Marcahuasi - The trek to the Marcahuasi plateau (4,000 meters above sea level) will commence. The hike takes between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the group’s pace.

The trail features diverse terrain, from cobblestone paths to gentle inclines, offering panoramic views of the valley and Andean vegetation. Strategic stops will be made for rest and hydration.

Upon reaching the campsite, guests will be welcomed with hot drinks and have time to set up tents. They can relax or explore the surrounding area in the evening.

Marcahuasi - A group dinner will be enjoyed by the campfire, providing an authentic experience in the heart of nature. Weather permitting, astronomical telescope observation will be conducted.

Plateau Exploration and Return to Lima

Marcahuasi - The day will begin with breakfast at the camp, featuring hot infusions and local products. Following breakfast, a guided hike across the plateau will explore its mysterious rock formations shaped by wind and time. Highlights include the “Monument to Humanity,” the “Fortress,” and the “Face of the Inca,” each with intriguing stories and legends.

San Pedro de Casta - A light lunch will be served at the campsite before beginning the descent. This is the last chance to capture photos and enjoy the scenery.

The descent back to San Pedro de Casta will take approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, guests will board the tourist transport back to Lima.

Lima - After a journey filled with memorable experiences, guests will arrive in Lima and be transferred to the original pick-up point, concluding an unforgettable adventure in Marcahuasi.
