It comprises 13 peaks, with Shanzidou being the tallest at 5,596 meters above sea level. The mountain range extends 35 kilometers from north to south and 15 kilometers from west to east. From Lijiang Old Town, the snow-covered and misty mountain resembles a giant jade dragon, hence the name “Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.”
• Blue Moon Valley - The Baishui River flows through Blue Moon Valley, a deep valley shaped like a crescent moon. On sunny days, the water appears blue, and from afar, the valley resembles a blue moon at the base of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Impression Lijiang is a spectacular one-hour singing and dancing show that showcases the traditions and lifestyle of the local ethnic communities, directed by the renowned Chinese director Zhang Yimou. The performance is held outdoors at an altitude of 3,100 meters, with the stunning Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as its backdrop.

• Yulong Snow Mountain and Glacier Park - Ride the Glacier Park cableway to the summit of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Glacier Park is situated on Shanzidou Peak, which hosts 19 oceanic glaciers, including hanging and cirque glaciers. The cableway to the glacier park is one of the highest in Asia, stretching 2,914 meters with a vertical drop of 1,150 meters. After exiting the cableway, visitors can walk to the highest viewing platform on the mountain at 4,580 meters above sea level.
• Yunshanping Ropeway - Take a shuttle to the Yunshanping Cableway to explore the Spruce Meadows. This expansive lawn is nestled within an ancient spruce forest at an elevation of 3,240 meters. Enjoy the stunning scenery, as the lawn’s colors change with the seasons, and the forest forms a natural barrier with the snow-capped Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Delight in folk dances around Spruce Meadow, where girls in vibrant ethnic attire perform in the meadows and forests. Naxi girls wear sheepskin capes, while Dai girls don hats made of colorful threads. Near Spruce Meadow, the Baishui River, the upper reach of China’s famous Yangtze River, can be found. The riverbed, composed of sedimentary crushed limestone, appears grey-white, and when thawing water flows through it, the river looks white, hence the name Baishui River (literally White Water River).

• Yak Plain - The Yak Plateau is part of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area, home to the Yi and Tibetan ethnic minorities. The locals engage in livestock farming, preserving their traditional customs and culture. As a typical pasture, the Yak Plateau is adorned with snow-capped mountains, the clear Heishui River, and dense primeval forests, creating a serene natural landscape. With vibrant flowers in spring, lush green grasses in summer, golden lawns in autumn, and snowy vistas in winter, the plateau is an ideal spot to appreciate nature’s diverse beauty.

• Yushui Village - Located about 15 kilometers north of Lijiang City, at the base of Yulong Snow Mountain in Baisha Town, Yushui Village offers natural and unspoiled scenery, particularly its ethereal and clear water views.
