Chengdu Leshan Giant Buddha
Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo) - Start your private tour with an 8:00 am pickup from your centrally located hotel in Chengdu, then proceed directly to the Leshan Giant Buddha, approximately 170 km from Chengdu. This statue represents Maitreya, a Bodhisattva often depicted as a cheerful, stout monk with a broad smile, exposed chest, and belly, seated in a serene posture. The Buddha is situated east of Leshan, where the Min, Qingyi, and Dadu Rivers converge, making it the most famous scenic attraction in Leshan.
This is the world’s largest carved Buddha statue, intricately sculpted into the cliff of Lingyun Mountain. Enjoy a guided hike around the statue, which takes about 38 minutes from the head to the torso, and another 38 minutes from the waist to the massive feet. Alternatively, you can opt for a river cruise (at an additional cost) for a different perspective. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Chengdu.

Jinli Pedestrian Street - After your time at the center, your guide will take you to Jinli Street, one of China’s oldest commercial streets, with a history dating back 1,700 years to the Qin and Han dynasties. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then explore a brocade museum to learn about this textile art and its significance in Chinese culture. Finally, take a brief visit to Renmin Park before returning to your hotel.
