• Mount Emei (Emeishan) - Mount Emei, also known as Emeishan, holds immense cultural importance as it marks the introduction of Buddhism to Chinese soil, from where it spread extensively throughout the East. The first Buddhist temple in China was constructed at the peak of Mount Emei in the 1st century CE. This temple later became known as Guangxiang Temple and was renamed Huazang in 1614. Over time, more than 30 additional temples were established, including the Wannian Temple, founded in the 4th century, which houses the 7.85-meter-tall Puxian bronze Buddha from the 10th century. The mountain also features garden temples like the Qingyin Pavilion complex, with its pavilions, towers, and platforms dating back to the early 6th century, as well as the early 17th-century Baoguo Temple and the Ligou Garden (Fuhu Temple). These additions have made Mount Emei one of the most sacred sites in Buddhism.
