Experience not to be missed! - We are a family of 4 with two teenage children, we did the 2M trek and the Pati Valley for only two days. It was a wonderful experience, in particular the Saimon guide and 'was fantastic: nice, kind, attentive, very considerate and clearly very experienced in the valley in all its aspects (flora and fauna, routes, etc.) and really a great cook. We highly recommend it. Also the agency was excellent always finding the right trekking route for us as well as exceptional availability. Experience not to be missed!

I did the 3-day Vale do Pati trek with Chapada Backpackers and it was an unforgettable experience. The whole trip was well organ - I did the 3-day Vale do Pati trek with Chapada Backpackers and it was an unforgettable experience. The whole trip was well organized — from the transport to the food and accommodation in the refuges. The scenery was stunning the entire way. Big thanks to our guides Juave, who has an incredible amount of experience and shared so much knowledge about the area, and Igor, who really looked after the group and made sure everyone was having a good time. Both of them made the trek feel safe, fun, and memorable. If you’re planning to do Vale do Pati, I can totally recommend going with these guys.

Trekking Vale do Pati 2025 - I would like to thank you for the walk and for all the care with our Chapada. Without a doubt, it is an amazing place, full of energy and connection with nature! I want to leave a special compliment to the guide Marlon, for education, patience and attention in every moment. It was a long and challenging journey, and he was always present, with kindness and encouragement, even when I didn’t believe I could continue! 😅 In addition to the impeccable technical knowledge, it still surprises with its culinary gifts — it really has a great hand to cook! 😄 Thank you and to the next 🙏🏻

Magic days in Vale do Pati - We had an incredible time in Vale do Pati! Such beautiful views of the valley and of loads of waterfalls (where you can go for a swim). The hikes are physically demanding, but nothing to worry about if you're used to hiking or doing sports. Our guide Esmeraldo was fantastic. Cheerful, charismatic and an unbelievable cook - he prepared the tastiest meals for breakfast and dinner out of his backpack. We couldn't recommend Chapada Backpackers more (both hostel and guided hikes) . An unforgettable experience!

Pati with Fireflies - It was really nice and calm. Each day you do at least one ascend and at night you stay at locals‘ places. The guide (you were great Wiri!) cooks for you and tells you about Pati. You have to carry your things plus about 4-5kg of food because you need it for the days to come. At night you can see fireflies.

Great 3-day hike with Dodo in Vale do Paty - We had a great tour with Dodo. He was a very good guide, gave many background info about the national park, its inhabitants and just general things. He‘s a brilliant chef and served a variety of great food such as veggie lasagna, cake, local vegetables, and every day a nice lunch buffet at the river streams. Can recommend this tour with him a 100%! Thanks Dodo! Moritz

Surreal Journey - The agency TRILHANDO_PELA_CHAPADA delivers a service of EXCELLENCE, from the planning of the itinerary (for groups or individual) to the care of the accommodation and feeding during the entire TREKKING DO VALE DO PATI. This experience is TRANSFORMATOR, it is RESIGNIFICATOR ❤️✨! I SUPER RECOMMEND LIVE this experience to the care of the guide TUTTY. 🙂 “Those who think travel is about places are wrong. Travel changes everything. You leave thinking you’ll know the world, but it’s you who comes back differently.” I'll be back soon, Tutty!

Beautiful Hike, but bad guide - We did the 3-day trek. To start with, the hike itself was absolutely beautiful. We had stunning views throughout. The local places where we stayed were nice and served good food. The lunches during the hike were also really great and clearly made with care. We booked an English-guided tour and paid extra for it, specifically to start on Thursday. We even adjusted our travel plans around this. Unfortunately, we were assigned a guide whose English was quite poor, which made communication very difficult. This was especially disappointing since we paid extra for an English-speaking guide. We saw many other guides from different groups who spoke good English. Not only was his English limited, but he also didn’t make any effort to connect with us. He constantly walked about 100 meters ahead of us at a very fast pace. We felt like we were always rushing to keep up and didn’t get the chance to properly enjoy the surroundings or ask questions about the environment. He didn’t adjust to our pace, even though we are relatively fast hiker. We were actually overtaking other groups. Interestingly, he was very social with other guides and groups, chatting in Portuguese during breaks, but made zero effort with us. During rainy conditions, there were also some difficult parts of the hike where we received no assistance from him. On top of that, he came across as quite unfriendly and sometimes even shouted instructions, which felt rude. He shared very little information about the surroundings, which is a big part of why you choose a guided hike. It ended up feeling more like just following someone who knew the route rather than having a guided experience. Overall, the hike itself was amazing, but our experience was significantly affected by the poor quality of the guide. When we returned, the agency didn’t make any effort to ask about our experience. They also gave us incorrect information beforehand. We were told that a rain jacket, backpack cover, and warm clothing were not necessary, which was completely wrong. On the last day, we had constant rain. One girl in our group had all her belongings soaked because of this. So definitely bring a rain jacket, a backpack cover, and warm clothes (long pants and a sweater are essential as it gets quite cold in the evenings). If you book with this agency, don’t pay extra for an English-guided tour, as there’s no guarantee you’ll actually get one. Alternatively, make sure you know in advance who your guide will be (ours was called Hau). Or better yet, consider booking with another agency. We met several other guides along the way who stayed with their groups, helped during difficult parts of the hike, created a friendly atmosphere, and spoke good English.
