Leon - On this hike you will be able to walk a nature trail along a set of interconnected active and inactive volcanoes. A total of six hours is required to reach the top and return. Due to its moderate difficulty, abundant shade and beautiful landscapes, this is the perfect option for an adventure with friends or family.

Due to its moderate difficulty, abundant shade and beautiful landscapes, this is the perfect option for an adventure with friends or family.
After a short transfer through roads and rural communities, we will report our visit at the visitor center located at the beginning of the trail that will take us to the top of the volcano. From the beginning we will enjoy the view of beautiful landscapes that stimulate adventure. At the beginning the path gradually inclines but after an hour we will walk on flat ground with abundant shade, which will allow us to conserve energy for the final part where there is no vegetation.
From the top we will enjoy an excellent 360-degree view of a group of aligned volcanoes that embellish this region of Nicaragua.

Stunning volcano views & an amazing experience - We had an outstanding hike and greatly appreciate the organization and preparation of our trip. We were lucky to have Wilmer as our guide - he is passionate about what he does and loves to share this passion & all his knowledge about Nicaragua’s volcanoes from the first to the last minute of the trip. He is a very experienced guide and we felt extremely well taken care of. Walking up to the sunrise at 5am was spectacular. The hike is well doable with good shoes - heat and the heavy backpack make it a bit strenuous but well, well worth the sweat! Seeing so many volcanoes up close is a unique experience. We can highly recommend the experience and will think of it fondly.

A Must do in Leon - It was a great hike. Be aware it can get hot, but that's Nicaragua. The scenery is some of the best I've ever seen. Thank you, won't forget this!

Do it! - We were so happy we booked this combo! Volcano boarding was a classic Nica tourist experience - quite busy and overhyped, but beautiful scenery and still fun. Our favourite was definitely the rest of the hike. It’s hot but not too strenuous and offers very rewarding scenery of the surrounding volcanos. The pictures online truly don’t do it justice! If you’ve done Acatenango in Guatemala, think of this hike like a baby sibling in terms of difficulty and volcano viewing.
Our guide, Wilmer, was so kind, funny, and knowledgeable, and his love for hiking was contagious!
Make sure you bring a large pack and perhaps some clips, as you will be carrying lots of water, your sleeping bag, some mats, and a tent (we only travel with very small packs so this made it tough).
Bugs weren’t bad but it can get very windy up top, and slightly chilly at night (windbreaker recommended). Camping was peaceful however we were awoken in the night by a herd of 20+ horses chilling beside us. Apparently sometimes it’s cows instead.
If you like hiking and you’re in Leon, please, budget the time for this overnight experience!

Momotombo was thrill!! - Guillermo my guide was super ! The hike was unique and its first time I was able to reach volcan that has gases coming out !! The whole experience was amazing and I’m thinking about coming back for more !!

El Hoyo Camping + Vulcano boarding - We had a very good time and were completely satisfied. From transport to our guide Sterling to the many attentions, everything was very good. We particularly liked the fact that a lot of consideration was given to nutritional forms and intolerances. The food tasted very good! Compared to participants from other tours, we were equipped with very high-quality material and this made the hike and overnight stay very pleasant. We would book this tour again at any time!

Very friendly and professional company - Great company which provides professional local guides with adequate equipment, unlike some other operators. Memo is very responsive and friendly, booking is very easy. The guide Henry was very knowledgeable about the trail, local animals and other things in Nicaragua. Highly recommend :)
