- We hiked Le Morne with Rowen and Olivier and had a great experience. They are true professionals who made us feel safe and confident, even during parts that initially looked a bit challenging, like climbing over rocks. Their guidance, calm attitude, and support were excellent. Highly recommend both of them!

A demanding, a must-to-do in Mauritius - It was a great experience, with a very careful guidance of Regine -our mountain guide. We enjoyed the hike and the stories about the island that Regine told us during the walk;)

- Oh this was really great! Régine was very solicitous of our safety and gave a lot of history and questions that we asked about. The Morne Brabant itself is somewhat like Angel's Landing in Zion National Park: the lower section is basically hiking and then the upper section is tougher. In this case, you are really climbing on all fours and coming down on your butt (although you can stop before this portion and relax with a great view. We chose the afternoon tour so as not to have to get up super early to drive down south, plus in winter the route is shaded and thus cooler in the afternoon (in summer Régine said it is much hotter). The Wapalapam Island Eatery meet point had some nice not super expensive salads, a perfect light lunch before the ascent. Just watch if you order drinks, the bill can spiral up in true Mauritian fashion. Back to the hike we highly recommend it-even for those of only moderate fitness or not liking heights the lower part is straightforward and offers some amazing viewpoints on the way.

With Regine (guide) this hike turned into a success story - With Regine (the Empress) this hike had to be victorious. Highly professional and knowledgeable she lead the group safely to the summit and back. She took care of the entire group and made this challenging hike feel so easy. I'm glad to have had her by my side and for having completed this hike successfully in her supervision.

Stunning view & beautiful nature - Stunning views, beautiful nature, no litter, not crowded, a real pearl. We had a fantastic guide in Rowin, very careful, caring and informative. I really wished I had, had cash for tipping. Highly recommend this trip, although the last 30-15 minutes clime are difficult and not for the faint hearted, watch out if you get rains. Consider it carefully if going with kids or older people.

A great experience supported by a great guide - I had the pleasure of having Rowin’s as our guide on this hike and I can’t recommend him and the experience highly enough. From start to finish, Rowin demonstrated a deep knowledge of the local area — not just the trails, but also the rich history and unique vegetation that make the region so special. He had fascinating stories about historical landmarks and was able to educate us on the local plants and vegetation, sharing insights that added real depth to the experience. Rowin’s friendly and approachable nature immediately put everyone at ease. He took the time to chat with each member of the group, making sure everyone felt included and engaged throughout the walk. His passion for the outdoors was infectious, and it was clear he genuinely cared about making the day enjoyable for everyone. Most importantly, Rowin was always looking out for our safety. Whether it was keeping an eye on changing weather conditions, checking that everyone was properly equipped, or offering a steady hand on tricky terrain, his attentiveness and professionalism were reassuring at every step. The hike itself was very enjoyable with some stunning views from the top. The terrain was slightly tricky given all the rain but we were always in safe hands with Rowin. If you’re looking for a guide who combines expert knowledge with warmth, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to safety, Rowin is the perfect choice and Le Morne Brabant is a great adventure.

A brilliant hike up Le Morne with Rowin - We had an excellent hike up Le Morne with our guide, Rowin. He was very knowledgeable and interacted very well with the whole family. Rowin gauged the ability of everyone in the group very well, ensuring they got safely to the top and back down. For anyone considering this trip - it is definitely a hike of two halves - initially a straightforward walk followed by some scrambling up quite narrow rock chutes which had plenty hand and foot holds! Rowin was able to tell you exactly where to place your feet and hands which would allow this accessible to people not used to this type of terrain. We feel very lucky to have had Rowin, a guide with a great sense of humour! Thank you 🙏
