A MUST DO on Fiji mainland Viti Levu - Such a great experience, Isoa is a super nice, generous and accommodating guide on his free time when not taking care of people and Fijian rugby players as a doctor. The hike through a protected area and its landscapes are gorgeous, the waterfall and natural pools to dive in are just stunning. Isoa shared his knowledge of old Fijian practices and some history of the area, among other things. On top of it we got to experience an actual truly authentic Fijian village experience in the mountains with a lovely lunch prepared by the villagers after the hike.

The Perfect Private Experience - We were lucky enough to be guided by Dr Isoa on this personal & private tour. Dr Isoa happens to be a full-time doctor that enjoys spending some of his precious off duty time helping others explore his beautiful country. He was a pleasure to be around, sharing his knowledge and personal experience. He was chatty, open and embedded himself in the day, we felt like we were just spending the day with a friend! The hike itself was a perfect balance between breathtaking views and a good workout. We stopped at two waterfalls, which offered a refreshing break, and were given a lot of time to take it all in. We then spent time in the nearby village, Abaca, where we shared a meal with the village chiefs daughter. Dr Isoa then took the time to stop by some beautiful spots on the way back where we shared cakes and refreshments whilst looking out on the Marina before ending at a local market nearby our apartment, where we all bought fruits for the evening. Not once did we feel rushed, this truly felt like a nice day out with a long time friend. We couldn’t recommend this enough, sote tale Dr Isoa! SETTTT! L&T

Memorable activity - We called one of the two drivers suggested on the Heritage Park website. While that driver was very helpful and obliging, when he arrived at our hotel to collect us in his car he had no seat belts! Not a great start, knowing we were going to go “off highway”. Fortunately, he quickly arranged for a friend to assist us who did have seat belts and after some short delay we were on schedule again. Our young guide at Abaca village was very patient and knowledgeable about the local flora. The hike to the closest waterfall was a good two hours (return) , but we did stop alot to take photos and ask questions. Moderate fitness required and sensible footwear. Take some water and a snack. The swim at the base of the waterfall was very refreshing. Some might say cold but it was so clean and fresh. Round trip back to Abaca village walking and swimming - 3 hours. Our driver took us on to the Boathouse at the Vuda Marina for a late lunch and then came back to collect us. Spectacular views from the track behind Abaca village and the Vuda Point Marina (40 min taxi ride away $FJD70).

A lovely way to spend half a day! - A lovely way to learn more about the flora of Fiji and get some steps in! The views are absolutely stunning, and the walk is sweaty due to the heat- but not super long or difficult. Just enough hard work to really appreciate cooling off in the beautiful waterfall! Our guide was great and we are definitely glad we booked a guide. The path is easy to miss, and we encountered another group who were very lost on our way. I even got proposed to here! 💍 It was just my partner and I and our guide so very intimate!

An excellent opportunity to sample Fiji's natural and cultural beauty, and to stretch the legs! - I had the great pleasure of visiting Abaca village and the Koroyanitu Heritage Park on the waterfall walk with Raymond, Paul, and Ben in early June 2025. The quick version of this review is that the walk is very worthwhile, as a medium grade walk perfect for folks with basic walking fitness and decent footwear. There is at least one river crossing that likely requires wading, and in wet conditions, the track can be muddy and slippery. The organisers and guides are amazing and can be relied upon for an excellent experience. The long review: We booked the walk fairly late on the evening prior, and set off in the morning with great expectations. We were collected from Denarau by Paul and Ben, who were immediately friendly, welcoming, and very professional. A fun and interesting drive north toward Lautoka saw us joined by another small group as well as some tour consultants from Rosie, who joined the trip to experience the new product they now offer. We arrived easily in Abaca village, where the walk started after a short briefing and park entry was settled by the team. The walk begins quickly, and I won't lie - it is a good test of your legs for the first kilometre, with steady ascent up a clear access road to the first stop. At this clearing, a further briefing is held, and the hiking begins down a more regular hiking track. This winds quickly down to the first river crossing which can usually be achieved without wet feet. From there, a further steep climb has you arrive at the 'Pizza Hut' - a sturdy hut with stunning views down the valley toward Lautoka and the coast, and up the valley to several waterfalls (especially if there has been recent rain). One of our party chose to wait here and reported a comfortable hour taking in the sights while we walked the remaining kilometre or so to the waterfall. The track continues at this point, around the valley edge through thick and beautiful jungle. The river soon appears to your right, and a final crossing which did require some shoes-off wading, or very nimble rock-hopping reveals the waterfall itself. To say this is spectacular is a substantial understatement. We stopped for about 25 minutes for a swim and photos, in the crystal clear but bracingly cold water before beginning our return. As always the walk back flew by, and we were soon back at Abaca, where one of the ladies from the village had prepared an absolute feast for us. We thoroughly enjoyed a traditional meal of tasty, well prepared, and caringly presented food in her own home. It was a real treat to sit in the doorway of their house, with a plate of great food on my lap, looking up through the village to the mountain looming overhead. I encourage anyone who wants to get off the tourist circuit, and has a cultural or natural environment interest in the beautiful Fiji, to do this walk, and to support Ray and his team, as well as the local village, who are providing these experiences. Vinaka vakalevu! ..

Fantastic way to experience the island - Raymond is an awesome guide. There are 3 trails to hike and he chose the one that fitted our abilities perfectly. He is very knowldgeable about the birds and plants. He found wild pineapple, bananas and many other native plants. The waterfall was beautiful. After the hike, a local women made us a delicious lunch in her home in the traditional Fijian manner.

The best day in Fiji - What a wonderful day! We were picked up by Ray and driven to the national park where we hiked to a waterfall, stopping for water/photo breaks. Even though it was drizzling, the photos of the waterfall & hike were amazing & Ray took care to make sure we didn't slip on the rocks/mud. We spent the day walking and talking, learning more about Fiji culture which was really interesting. Plus there were stops to talk through the various native plants (ginger, pink guava, traditional soap, lemongrass, and many more!). The village was a wonderful touch, it's a great chance to try traditional Fijian food if you haven't before. Could not recommend this more!

Total Awesomeness - My family and I went on this adventure trip where the team picked us up in Nadi and dropped us back (9am to 230pm). A lovely adventure with a combination of a scenic road trip, a guided hike, dip at the waterfall, further swims at other pools and a lovely Fijian spread by the village of Abaca. As a local, I highly recommend it.

Amazing Hike, Amazing Food, Amazing People - This hike has been the highlight of our trip. Getting to see the waterfall and experience real traditional Fijian food is a memory I will cherish my whole life. Ray was a very fun gracious host who shared history and facts about Fiji that made us appreciate fiji even more. Ray accommodated us when I made a mistake booking the trip and really helped us navigate this fun hike.
