- 1 Datura Ave - With over 12 years of experience, the Guide will take visitors from the pristine white sands straight into the Ocean, exploring the incredible Snorkel Trails and thriving Reef System in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Additionally, Jean Cousteau’s renowned “Shipwreck Snorkel Trail” is available, second only to the Great Barrier Reef in popularity. This includes two sets of concrete cannons, a large anchor, and a ballast pile that mimic a shipwreck typical of these waters from years past. The 8 - 16’ reefs are home to a diverse array of tropical marine life, including:
Large Sea Turtles, Blue Tang, Parrotfish, French Angels, Spotted Scorpionfish, Caribbean Spiny Lobster, Doctorfish, Tarpon, Nurse Sharks, Spotted Goatfish, Peacock Flounder, Barracuda, Eels, Manta Rays, Trumpet Fish, Blue-Headed Wrasse, Eagle Rays, Octopus, Cuttlefish, and Sergeant Majors.
In November 2022, a section of the pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea collapsed due to Hurricane Nicole, resulting in a ban on fishing and offering a unique opportunity for guided Snorkel excursions around the unexplored areas of Anglin’s Pier. The original Tour was established over 12 years ago to support the first Bio-Rock Project in the USA, and the commitment to nurturing and safeguarding these stunning reefs continues today.
