• Volcan Iliniza Sur - The journey begins at 7:30 a.m. from the hotel. By 9:00 a.m., the twin peaks of “Ilinizas” come into view, surrounded by cultivated lands, haciendas, untouched forests, wild horses, and ecosystems that transform remarkably with elevation!

The hike starts from the parking area known as “La Virgen,” situated at 3,750 meters above sea level (12,303 ft). The breathtaking views along the ascent are sure to captivate. The 149,900-hectare reserve is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including condors, hummingbirds, white-tailed deer, Andean foxes, carunculated caracaras, rabbits, and many more!

During the two-hour hike, an altitude of approximately 4,700 meters above sea level (15,419 ft) is reached. At the “Nuevos Horizontes” refuge, located between the volcano’s two peaks, there is ample time to rest and recharge. Descending back to the parking lot is much easier! On the drive back, a stop is made at “El Chaupi,” a charming Andean village, offering the chance to enjoy a snack or drink while soaking in the peaceful, quiet lifestyle. Return to the hotel is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
