Cotopaxi - The journey continues with a drive to the Cotopaxi parking area at 4,500 meters above sea level, where the ascent to the José Rivas Refuge at 4,810 meters begins. Cotopaxi, Ecuador’s second-highest peak at 5,897 meters, is one of the world’s highest active volcanoes and a national icon. This challenging yet rewarding hike can be tailored to individual fitness levels and pace.
