A Journey Through Time and Nature

As a retired teacher with a penchant for road trips, the allure of the open road has always been irresistible to me. The Grand Circle Tour from Las Vegas promised a journey through some of the Southwest’s most iconic landmarks, and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to experience it firsthand. The thought of revisiting the Grand Canyon, a place I had seen in my youth, filled me with nostalgia. This time, however, I would be accompanied by my husband, sharing the wonders of the road with him as we had done so many times before in our trusty RV.

Our adventure began in the bustling city of Las Vegas, where we were picked up from the iconic Bellagio Hotel. Our final stop was the charming town of Seligman on Route 66, a place steeped in Americana nostalgia. As we strolled through the town, I was transported back to the road trips of my youth, when Route 66 was the lifeline of cross-country travel. The town’s vintage charm, complete with life-sized characters from the movie “Cars,” was a delightful nod to its storied past.

Though our time in Seligman was brief, it was a fitting end to a day filled with wonder and reflection. The journey back to Las Vegas was a time to rest and reminisce, the memories of the day’s adventures fresh in our minds. As we returned to the city lights, I felt a renewed appreciation for the beauty of the American Southwest and the timeless allure of the open road.
