Death Valley National Park - In this below-sea-level basin, persistent drought and record summer heat make Death Valley a land of extremes. Yet, each extreme presents a stunning contrast. Towering peaks are dusted with winter snow, rare rainstorms bring expansive fields of wildflowers, and lush oases provide sanctuary for tiny fish and refuge for wildlife and humans. Despite its ominous name, a remarkable diversity of life thrives in Death Valley.
