Arriving at the Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort, I was immediately enveloped by the serene beauty of Lapu-Lapu City. The gentle rustle of palm trees and the distant sound of waves set the perfect backdrop for my upcoming adventure. As a marine biologist, the ocean has always been my sanctuary, and the prospect of diving with Scotty’s Action Sports Network was exhilarating. The team, consisting of Fredevic Yorpo, Nash Perez, and Zigmund Jess Cid, welcomed me with open arms. Their passion for the ocean was infectious, and I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience.

Our first dive took us to the vibrant reefs of Baring and San Vicente. The underwater world was a kaleidoscope of colors, with schools of fish darting around coral formations. The experience was made even more special by witnessing a young diver, just twelve years old, earn his Advanced Open Water certification. His excitement and determination were inspiring, and it was a testament to the dive team’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of ocean enthusiasts. As we concluded our dives, the team took care of rinsing our gear, a small but appreciated gesture that added to the overall sense of relaxation and enjoyment.
