Exceeded All Expectations - What a great place! We hiked all top 10 of the "best trails" and loved them all. This was my son's first experience in a National Park and he was engaged and impressed. Trails were adequately categorized and we were a 20 yr old and two 55+ adults all capable but not huge athletes or hikers. I want to visit again when the leaves turn. Lots of history to soak up on the information boards. We loved this trip!

Life changing tour - The tour was amazing. I never would have attempted some of these routes, but the narrated navigation gave me the courage to trek through the mountains for amazing views and life experiences. I thought my family would be bored. Not so. They loved it. My city-girl wife wants to redo it another time and hit the alternative stops. The stories were a little corny but gave me confidence that the app was working between stops. My teenagers hushed up for the stories as well.

Beautiful sights! - My husbands family is from this area. Sometimes you take for granted the places you visit frequently. This was an informative way to see some of the same sights we have already seen while visiting. I want to take our children on it with us next time.

Was fantastic! Don't buy tickets ahead. - The app said you needed to buy tickets in Advance for the auto tour file to download. When we got there we discovered a QR code to download free. The auto tour was fantastic, but we feel they took our money as the File download was free......

Fun and Educational - We wanted to know what we were seeing while driving around the area and this did exactly that. It was very educational, and in a fun way, with some interesting topics (e.g., historical figures and bugs). I liked that the audio was up-to-date and didn't whitewash the history of the mines and workers' difficulties. We linked the audio to our car screen, so we saw photos of what the audio was instructing us about, too. It took a few stops to learn how the GPS moved the audio forward, and then it was very easy. We appreciated that we could do the tour on our own time, stopping or moving on as we wanted.

View the Waterfalls - App was fairly easy to manage and gave some interesting information. Next time, I will do some more personal research as it would have been nice to know the distance between stops, especially those that were considered "detour". Driving/road conditions would also have been a nice feature as some areas were narrow roads or rock roads. Overall, we'll do this type of experience again as we learned a lot about the are we were touring and saw more than we would have typically seen. The recommended 2-3 hour tour took us 4.5 hours.

Okay when the tech worked - For the middle half of the drive, the automatic start for new places didn't work. As a solo traveller this was dangerous because it meant I had to pull over and stop every couple minutes to try to access the information (or be tempted to try to advance it while driving). When the tech worked, I enjoyed the information in the first section. About half way through, the quality of the information dropped off significantly. Getting a description of a cross-section of the wildlife in an an area while driving through places that wildlife might be present at some point isn't very interesting or educational.

Too long with detours. Good stories but too little time in the park and too much on the highway. - The one detour to get to a lookout was supposed to be a short walk. The gate to the drive was locked so it was quite a walk to get there. The Thurmond detour should be taken out. Once we got there and saw the narrow, dead end, very steep road to get there, we turned around. After 4 hours of driving, with no indication of when it was over, we turned it off and went to eat. The stories were interesting and the stops in the park were nice but too much time was spent on the highway.

It was nice tour, but it’s free - I spent $17 on tickets when I arrived at the Parks station. I was told it was a free tour. All I had to do is scan the barcode. So basically I spent my I didn’t need to spend.

Very disappointed! - Scheduled the 10 stop tour. When the tour guide was activated it had 85 stops not just the 10, It would not start from our location, and it was very very confusing on how to get it started. We wound up not even using it or going on the ride because we were so frustrated with it.
