A Whirlwind of Fun and Furry Friends

As a former elementary school teacher turned family travel writer, I am always on the lookout for destinations that promise both fun and learning for the whole family. When I heard about Sesame Place in Langhorne, I knew it was a must-visit. After all, who can resist the charm of Sesame Street® characters coming to life? With my husband and two kids in tow, we set off on a sunny morning, ready to dive into a world of whirling rides, splashy water slides, and toe-tapping shows.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the vibrant colors and cheerful music that instantly transported us to the beloved world of Sesame Street. Our first stop was the Vapor Trail, a thrilling roller coaster that had my six-year-old son squealing with delight. My four-year-old daughter, however, found it a bit too intense, but she was soon distracted by the promise of more adventures ahead. As a family, we appreciated the short wait times, which allowed us to maximize our time in the park.

Splashing Around in Counts Court

Next, we made our way to Counts Court, the kids’ waterpark area. The water slides were a hit with my son, who couldn’t get enough of the twists and turns. I, on the other hand, found myself hilariously stuck on more than one occasion, much to the amusement of my family. The water was a bit chilly, but we quickly adapted, and the laughter and joy made it all worthwhile.

While some of the slides were closed, and a few water features weren’t working, it didn’t dampen our spirits. The kids were too busy having a blast, and I was grateful for the opportunity to relax and enjoy the moment. It’s these little hiccups that remind us to embrace the imperfections and focus on the joy of being together.

Parades, Puppets, and Perfect Memories

One of the highlights of our visit was the Neighborhood Street Party Parade. Watching my children’s faces light up as their favorite characters danced by was a memory I’ll cherish forever. The parade was short but sweet, with Big Bird leading the way and a delightful array of floats. It was a reminder that sometimes, less is more, and the joy of seeing your kids happy is priceless.

We also caught a street show featuring Big Bird, Elmo, and Abby, which was a delightful surprise. Seeing the actual puppets in action was a treat, and the story they told was both entertaining and heartwarming. It was a perfect way to wind down our day at the park.

As we left Sesame Place, tired but happy, I couldn’t help but reflect on the wonderful day we had. Despite a few minor setbacks, the experience was overwhelmingly positive, and we left with a treasure trove of memories.
