Wine, views and a happy tipsy afternoon – perfect! - My partner and I did this tour during our stay in alicante, and it was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had. We visited guadales castle first – and wow, what a place. No words can really describe it. The views are absolutely stunning, and the whole village is beautiful. After that, we went to bodega mendosa for a wine tasting, and we were lucky enough to try 7 different wines. Everything was perfectly organised, the guide was super friendly, and the wines were delicious. We ended the tour a little bit tipsy (okay, maybe more than a little 😅), but that just made the experience even more fun and memorable. Highly recommend this tour if you want a great mix of culture, amazing landscapes, and good wine. Thank you to the whole team for such a well - organised and friendly experience!

Best wine tour experience - What a fantastic experience! From the moment I booked Grigor was extremely helpful and let me updated until the day we went on our tour. On the day Grigor was on time and waiting at our hotel, the water in the car was a great addition. He took us to a small town for a walk around and we learned about the history and the heritage of the area, visited some local points of interest and had a coffee in the town square. Next we went to the wine tasting experience and tour and it was out of this world. We learned about the winery and its history, the vintages, how wine is made and stored and at the end we got to try numerous wines. The meats and bread with oils was a great accompaniment to the wine and we were told about each wine and what we would taste. We had the added pleasure of a sparkling wine to celebrate my partners birthday and Grigor was so accommodating to us. Thanks so much for an amazing day and great conversation. You were fantastic! 5 stars every time!

Perfect combination: winery and castle - We visited the Francisco Gomez Winery. The visit was very interesting, with good explanations about wine making and a varied and quality tasting. Then we climbed to Biar Castle, and it was the perfect complement to the excursion, with spectacular views. Highly recommended to spend a different day between wine, history and landscapes.

Wow! What an experience! - We have been to Spain on some great trips over the years, but this was by far the best and it was made possible by Gregorio at Explore Alicante Tours. We were pict up promptly and taken to a top class winery Bodegas Enrique Mendezo then on to El Castelli de Quadelest. A magnificent trip. Thank you Gregorio for being incredibly informative and professional.

Brilliant day out canny recommended enough !!! - We got picked up in the morning from our hotel, greeted with a smile and bottle of water, the trip took to some wonderful places. Grigor was a wonderful guide and great host. Went above beyond for the tour, the places we visit were stooped in history and the winery tour was on point. we had an extra stop to see Benidorm from high in the mountains wonderful view. Would highly recommend the tour who are looking to do it more privately.

2 great experiences in the same day - They had told us about Guadalest and we wanted to do some sightseeing but also know a winery and thought we would take advantage of 1 day for both. Total hit. First we visited the castle, opened mouth and then the tour in the cellar and we were delighted with the tasting and the appetizers. The guide very attentive and helpful, knows how to unfold where it took us. Thanks Grigor, we will repeat another experience with you

Almost nothing is true - Where do I start. Well we booked a PREMIUM tour at not inconsiderable cost. We were promised 2 hours in Guadalest, 3 hours at a winery, a private tour with food matching. The only premium thing is the pick up in a Lexus, if you consider that Premium. We arrived in Guadalest and were taken around a museum, the guide didn't have any knowledge of what was in the museum, we asked numerous questions and a blank look was given. After the museum we were given 20 minutes to walk to the top of the castle then hurried out of the village, we had 1 hour not the 2 that is promised, no chance to soak up the atmosphere, browse the lovely little shops or sit on a terrace and enjoy the views. Oh well, we thought at least we have the premium tour at the Winery. This venue at Bodega Mendoza is not a winery, it is a storage facility, tasting room and shop. There are only a few experimental vines not a vineyard. They do not grow the grapes here, nor press them here nor ferment the juice. The winery guides knowledge was very basic and when asked some good questions generally said there were a number of factors and then moved on. The tasting was again basic to the extent we were asked to look at the wine then smell and then she walked away every time to get another wine. No tasting information at all. If you see the photo supplied by the tour operator it is resplendent with amazing looking cheeses and meats, this photo is an absolute lie, see my picture. The meats and cheeses supplied were minute, the thinnest slices I have ever seen. Stingy would be high praise, also the tastes were around 15ml, just enough to cover a tooth! We paid through a tour company so don't know how much they charge, whatever it is, it isn't worth it. We were promised a luxury tour and found we were in a public tour with about 15 others who had just popped in or booked online direct. I have been all over the world tasting wine and this had to be the worst and most depressing visit to a winery, ever. The wines were very pleasant but it is the experience that you pay for and there wasn't one. Everything about this tour is dishonest apart from the luxury car and the guide Carlos was a nice guy, hence the 2 stars and not 1. It is not and will never be a premium luxury tour and we basically paid 130 euros each for a taxi, a quick run around Guadalest and a public wine tour in a warehouse. We had an apology hoping we would understand, no we do not. I asked for a partial refund only to be ignored. Explora Alicante Tours are not a professional operation. Do not support this scam of a tour.

Bait and switch - Good: The winery Finca Collado was very good with a great host Bad: The castle was not open, Gregir is new to this and was unaware that it would be closed. Additionally the castle, Castell de Salvatierra, and winery were not the ones advertised. As mentioned the winery was fine but even if the castle had been open it would not have compared to the advertised Castell de Guadalest.
