Amazing views of southern hemisphere sky - Wilson was very knowledgeable and as well as showing us what we would be looking at through the telescope, he was able to show us a lot with the naked eye. Amazing experience , small group.

Stargazing at midnight - We got a recomendation for this tour in the Lake Tekapo Village Motel and it was great. Our guide did a nice and very understandable presentation of the southern sky for us and we got to look at the moon and stars through two different telescopes. They also provide warm clothing for the slightly chill weather after midnight.

Learn the Southern skies! - We were given a wonderful tour of the Southern Hemisphere skies by a very knowledgeable astronomer very close to Lake Tekapo. Being from North America, we wanted to know about the stars in the Southern Hemisphere and our guide had lots of information and stories about location of the stars, navigation, how to find constellations and some great statistics that gave us perspective on our small place in the galaxy. It was not long but the time was extremely well spent! Would highly recommend!

The experience provides a... - The experience provides a basic knowledge about galaxies, stars and planets. We saw fiew specific stars and learned about their location in the sky, related to navigation and time and distance from earth. Daniel was an excellent guide. He explained all the topics very clearly and was open for questions. We had a chance to view several stars with the telescope. Highly recommended tour for people without a deep knowledge in southern hemisphere astronomy.

Great despite being cut short - Enjoyed what we could see. Tried 2 nights but Guide called it due to too much cloud and bad weather, which I appreciated. Guide was knowledgeable and enjoyable.

Beautiful sky. - Had a great experience! The guide gave us great information and answered questions. Had a full moon that night but the experience was still worth it. If we come back to New Zealand I’ll definitely book a second experience here.

Knowledgeable guide but overpriced - Knowledgeable and friendly guide, so I learnt new things. But it’s simply not easy to see the stars on the eve when the moon is bright. Also there’s a lot of hanging around waiting for everyone (including children who take a while) to look into the big telescope just three times during the event. Or works have been great to have some smaller telescopes too. Next time I’ll head up the hill away from town and lie down on my back to see the stars.
