If you are booking a tour that begins after midnight, please ensure you have selected the correct date. For example, if your tour starts at 12:30am on January 1st, it will occur on the night between December 31st and January 1st, so you will need to be in Lake Tekapo on December 31st. If you are uncertain about the date and time, please send us an email.
The night sky varies each night, influenced by weather conditions, moon phases, aurora activity, and the natural rotation of the sky. The photos shown on our products are examples and may not represent the exact sky you will see during your session.

Stargazing at Lake Tekapo - Great stargazing experience in Lake Tekapo. Lucky to have a beautiful clear night to learn more about the stars! Great hosts Guthrie and George. Definitely recommend this tour.

Very informative and thoughtful stargazing tour - We really enjoyed our tour with Chameleon stargazing! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny and we learned about many constellations and stars. We also loved the hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows, very thoughtful touches on a cold night!

Really lovely evening... - Really lovely evening learning lots about the stars especially in the southern hemisphere. Our guides were great providing us with blankets, hot chocolate and even marshmallows to roast on the fire after looking at over 10 objects through the two telescopes and answering any and all questions.

Excellent experience - Really enjoyed our stargaze experience. Cute setting tears laid out and blanket supplied whilst we were given some information about Night Sky. Hot chocolate where then handed out feeling some interesting facts and where I told about the telescopes that we would be looking through. We then took turns looking through two telescopes one was a photographic telescope taking pictures of the Night Sky and the other one standard we got to look at cool things like the galaxies and nebula’s, Jupiter and the moon the evening ended with marshmallows by the fire really enjoyable experience overall. Highly recommend.

We had a clear night and... - We had a clear night and had never seen the night sky like this before! Guthrie did a great job pointing out the constellations in the telescopes and with the laser!

Great late night adventure - What a great experience! Mok was amazing! She knew the sky and clearly loves teaching others about it, plus she’s really funny ;) Highly recommend this late night adventure, just be sure to dress for a very chilly night. Although, I really loved the hot chocolate, blankets and fire pit too! Thank you for an amazing experience!

As with a lot of tours,... - As with a lot of tours, they are weather dependent. Ours unfortunately did not go ahead because of clouds but what I loved is they allowed you to meet at the time of the tour and trial it out for 10 minutes before cancelling. Hopefully will have the opportunity to do this again on a good weather day!

The tour was truly... - The tour was truly wonderful. When I had a question and sent a message, I received a reply very quickly. I was also very satisfied with the tour itself.
The guide’s explanations about the stars were clear and detailed, and they answered all the participants’ questions carefully. They also provided hot chocolate and other thoughtful services, which made it possible to spend the cold late night comfortably and without worry.
The souvenir light and the photos will be lifelong memories for me. Thank you very much.

The company will provide... - The company will provide you an update half an hour before your tour to advise if it will go ahead due to weather.
If it doesn't go ahead, then the company will automatically refund you the tickets without you needing to do anything.
