Wow wow wow. We hit all... - Wow wow wow. We hit all the major destinations in NZ on our vacation and this tour was arguably one of the best things we did. The sky was mind-blowing, the guide was super knowledgeable, the telescopes were very cool, and the hot chocolate was a super nice touch. Great communication day-of about the weather and how to find them!

A great way to learn about the night sky! - This was a great experience! The guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the night sky. It was a chilly evening but the blankets provided kept us comfortable. The hot chocolate and marshmallows were a great touch as well. We learned so much and were lucky enough to have a perfectly clear night!

Great experience. - Our guide is extremely knowledgable and displayed great professionalism. Ask him any questions and he will be able to answer you within his finger tips. He has such great understanding of the constellation and universe.
We were seated on very comfortable reclined seat and given a thick blanket while the guide used a laser pointer to explain the stars.
There was also a warm drink given halfway through. At the end of the star gaze, we did marshmellow barbecue.
Photos of the star gaze taken from the telescope were sent to our emails a few hours after the star gaze

Staring gazing at Lake Tepaku - Excellent experience, especially for those living in cities and can’t actually appreciate the beauty of the sky. The guide is excellent and gave is an eye opening lecture on the celestial bodies.

The yearning of the mystical Universe! - The stars, constellation and galaxy were clearly shown in the crystal dark sky and well shown and explained by Estella. The environment is good and convenient, with recline chair for comfort of good gazing The small group experience with camp fire gave us a warm debriefing. Thank you !

Memorable experience - It was a cloudy late evening and not a favourable weather for star gazing. We had come all the way from India and were very keen for this tour. George heard us and changed to different times to accomodated us, kept waiting for the weather to clear so we could have our first close look at the stars. Our session that was scheduled at 9:15 pm finally happened at 1:30 am. Everybody else had canceled their sessions, George was patiently waiting and spent some extra time with us talking, explaining giving us a memorable experience. Thank you George.

Insights and stars! - The experience was incredibly well-managed and informative. When we arrived, the young astronomer showed us various key things in the night sky such as the Southern Cross. Meanwhile we were served hot chocolate in recyclable cups that we were invited to take with us. Then we looked through two telescopes and were shown nebula and new stars. We were photographed with the night sky as our background and finally given skewers to roast marshmallows over the fire. Everything was explained in such a way that we could understand, and all questions were welcomed and answered. It was a great experience. Then this morning we received photos of the stars we had seen and our own pictures via email.

Absolutely worth it - Even though there were quite some clouds and it was just a few days after full moon, it was still a great experience, 100% worth it. The guide was super knowledgeable and could answer all our questions on the spot. He gave interesting insights and we could see beautiful constellations through the telescopes.
If you can plan your trip to be there around new moon, it's probably even more amazing.

One of the standout experiences of our NZ holiday - highly recommend. - This was an amazing night. We looked at other Lake Tekapo stargazing opportunities and so glad we chose this one. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and so enthusiastic. Leant loads and stared with wonder at the Milky Way, Southern Cross ad a host of other stars, constellations, nebulas and galaxies. The information leading up to the event was first rate with contact made on the day, clear instructions, etc etc. Sadly it clouded over towards the end, and he was kind enough to offer a half refund, but we'd had such an awesome time, we refused. We got hot chocolate, got to keep the really great cups it was served in, marshmallows round a fire, comfy chairs, blankets - what an experience.

Chameleon Stargazing:Lake Tekapo: Stargazing Experience - Lake Tekapo: Stargazing Experience: Chameleon Stargazing
Our Star gazing night was amazing. Our host had the night well organised. He made finding the site easy. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to comfortable deck chairs and offered a blanket to keep us warm. The first part of the night was looking at the night sky. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained all that we were looking at, with the help of his laser pointer. To keep us warm, our host then gave us a hot chocolate in our seats (along with a reusable coffee cup that we got to keep- a nice touch). The rest of the night was spent looking into two different telescopes looking at everything from the moon to stars- amazing images. The night ended with us sitting around a campfire toasting marshmallows as our guide answered any questions. To top this off, the next day an email arrived with a personalised photo of us against the night sky, and photos of all the stars, moon etc we had seen through the telescopes. An excellent informative evening. Highly recommended.
