Commence your day with a sunrise paddle towards the breathtaking cliffs of Ponta da Piedade.
This early SUP tour occurs in the calmest and clearest conditions, before any boat traffic starts. The tour first reaches this iconic Algarve landmark, where participants will learn about its history connected to Portuguese explorers, slave trade routes, and the 1755 earthquake and tsunami that shaped the coastline.
Guiding paddlers here since 2019, the team ensures a safe, smooth, and well-organized experience for all.
On the return journey, as the light rises, participants paddle through arches, tunnels, and natural rock formations, concluding with a serene stop inside the renowned Love Cave.
Small groups, quality equipment, and a professional approach make this tour safe, accessible, and unforgettable.

Magical! - This tour is THE BEST!! We started our tour at sunrise and witnessed several other tours going out all with about 10-20 people. We had only my family and that’s it! So personal! We were able to access so many caves that we wouldn’t be able to with a big group. Gaylord is a fantastic guide. He knows so much about the history of the area and the caves. He takes a bunch of photos and will email them all at the end of your trip so you can have your memories forever! The scenery is nothing short of STUNNING and the water is the clearest most beautiful shade of turquoise you can imagine. This experience is magical. It was by far the highlight of the trip. Book it!

Sunrise SUPing through the Arches is a MUST! - The sunrise SUP was magical- the best way to see the caves and cliffs of the Algarve. Our
Guide, Gaylord, was professional and an amazing paddler with lots of local history and a respect for the ocean. Early morning is much better because there were no boats out, just us and a couple other paddlers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this as the best way to see the grotto’s.

Riding into the sun, awesome way to start the day! - It’s so great to be back on the paddleboard with such an amazing group. Gaylord was excellent, he took us on a ride to the caves, with full historical commentary! Loved to paddle and learn from the history of the site! He was also super patient with the group, checking in on everyone, helping improve technique and putting always safety first, as it was a windy, wavy morning. He was so kind to wait a little for someone, although he had to be fair to the rest of us who were on time as this person arrived 30min later, when we were ready to hit the water, so she had to miss it. Overall, amazing time! Fully recommend the views, the sun, the water, the guide! Great exercise too!

Go for it! - We loved this experience! The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. The water was medium, with some dangerous sections but considering all 6 of us had never been paddle boarding, he guided us incredibly well. I personally found it exhilarating, would recommend:)

Must do - Beautiful activity with a sublime sunrise. The person responsible for the activity is top, smiling, punctual and above all will decorate the visit with very interesting explanations.

Sunrise paddle board - The views were stunning, this is one of the best ways to explore the beaches of Lagos and grottos from a one of kind viewpoint. Gaylord helped to make us feel comfortable and safe on the water, even as beginners.

Unreliable - Booked this two days in advance. At 11:45pm the night before a 06:30am meetup I received an email canceling the tour for "weather conditions". I assume the conditions were too good for Sygma Surf as I was lucky to get a place with another tour operator and the conditions were clear, calm and a smooth sup session. So do not book this unreliable crowd if you want to a sunrise paddle board experience. Now still waiting for my refund from Viator.

Didn't show! Don't book with Trip Advisor - Do NOT book with Trip Advisor! I booked this months in advance. Woke up at 5am after 2 hours sleep,walked to the meeting place for 6:30 tour (got there at 6am because ticket said to get there at 6 in May, June, and July inexplicably in French.). No one ever showed. Kept trying to call number given, which is a French area code, no answer. It totally ruined our day. My daughter and I really looked forward to this. So annoyed!
