As of September 10, 2023, swimming access to the Benagil cave has been prohibited. Vagabundo Travel, not fans of restrictions, enjoyed seven years of swimming, but now offers two 2-seat kayaks. Authorities have also banned standing on the sand inside the cave. However, you can still enjoy a stunning view of the cave from the comfort of a kayak.

Authorities have also banned standing on the sand inside the cave. However, you can still enjoy a stunning view of the cave from the comfort of a kayak.
Our kayaks are faster than those rented at Benagil, and we provide transport to and from Lagos, along with beer, sangria, and a picnic lunch, making it an easy choice. The kayak trip is subject to weather conditions. Occasionally, waves at Benagil prompt lifeguards to raise a yellow or red flag, preventing kayak use. We will make every effort to notify you if this occurs before your scheduled trip.

Cave Swim - Our experience with Brody was amazing! Unfortunately the “fun police “ don’t allow you to swim into the caves effective Aug ? but that did not stop us! We kayaked into the caves and it was quite an adventure!! When we returned to the beach we were greeted by a great lunch and beverages. Thanks mate for being awesome!!!

Best way to see Benagil - All around a great time with Brodie. It was a nice small group, just us and one other couple. We all got to know each other which made the whole experience even better. Brodie is the Aussie version of Matthew McConaughey, inside and out. He provided us with boogie boards to swim into the cave with and a spread of some lunch afterwards. As well as all the sangria and beer we could want to drink. The swim into the cave wasn’t too challenging and was so rewarding!

Authentic & Unmatched Experience - This tour, and Brodie lived up to the mass of good reviews. Brodie was awesome - very personable, easy going and has a genuine love for people & Portugal/Lagos. Our day started with a road trip accompanied by cold drinks, good music and good chats. The Benagil caves were nothing short of incredible and are a must-do when visiting Lagos. Once we returned ashore, Brodie had laid out a fresh lunch along with a stream of cold drinks, sunscreen and beach supplies. The afternoon was one of our highlights in Lagos - chatting away, getting to know Brodie and the other lovely couple we met on the tour. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning!

Brodie is the best! - Brodie was a fantastic tour guide, who took us (group of 6 friends) to swim at Benagil - it was such a cool experience to be able to swim into the caves! He provided some lovely snacks and very cold drinks, as well as plenty of local knowledge. We didn't have the time to do more trips with him, but the walking tours and wasted on the west coast trip sound like a great time! Definitely look Brodie up if you want to have some fun and educational trips of the area while you are here!

Incredible Day - Incredible day! We had booked this activity with Brodie to do the swim to the Benagil Cave but days before they had shut down the cave to all visitors. This all occurred days before the activity. Frankly, we had considered canceling as we were disappointed with the cave's closing to visitors. Thankfully we didn't!
Brodie was quick to message us and update us to the unfortunate closing of Benagil. He seamlessly put together an unbelievable day for us including a picturesque hike along the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail. Meanwhile, Brodie set up a spot along the beach at the end of the trail complete with homemade sangria, beer, snacks, and sandwiches. We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the crashing waves and beautiful glowing cliffs of the Seven Hanging Valleys.
If you are in the area, we highly recommend looking into an activity with Brodie. He gets you out of the touristy area and shows you beauty of the Algarve coast. The way he speaks about Portugal and its people will make you fall in love with the country all the more.

Fan-Bloody-Tastic - Best day out of Lagos to date. Nothing cringeworthy here, just an awesome day out, making mates and enjoying the gorgeous Algarve weather. Brodie is the funniest guide I reckon I've ever met.

Do it! Best way to see the cave!!! - Very very cool. Brodie is such a great guide and it was a very chill and cool group. We think this is the best way to see the cave and additionally have a great time with new people you meet. It is definitely the money worth it. This tour is unique and with all his experience and his good vibe, brodie is the best tour guide!!!

Highlight of our trip! - We had a great time on this adventure!!! I would highly recommend doing something different then the “regular” tours. Brodie was fun and good energy vibes. He included every one and made it comfortable. We had such a good group. One of the highlights of our trip.
