Fantastic rafting experience of very good quality. - Great experience!!! Never before had such extensive safety instructions when rafting. Carlos has a lot of experience with rafting and David joined in a kayak for extra safety. Very nice and cool trip. On quiet stretches Carlos also explained animals/nature along the way. Afterwards a nice vegan lunch. Definitely a challenge and we felt safe the whole trip, even on the heavy parts. Very good reception also with showers and towels arranged through them.

Awesome morning on the Sarapiqui with SOC. - Steven and the crew was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the river and hit all the rapids just right. Able to point out monkey, sloth, iguana and more birds than I can count. To top it all off, the meal at the end was delicious along with the cacao and sugar cane. Thank you SOC.!

Very nice experience - We (4 adults) were rafting for the first time and tried level III-IV. We had a lot of fun and it all worked out without any problems. After the rafting there was a very good lunch and a small demonstration how to press sugar cane. We can definitely recommend.

Thrilling adventure on class III and IV rapids on the Sarapiqui River - This class III and IV rafting trip was the second tour that my two adult daughters and I did with Sarapiqui Outdoor Center. Our guides were Carlos and Stephen – Carlos was in the raft with us and Stephen was in a kayak ahead in case there were any safety issues. Both guides were excellent – Carlos is a world class white water rafting expert and kept us safe and on track with his instructions. We felt assured that Stephen was there and he was wonderful at taking photos and videos of us during our trip. This was quite a thrilling adventure – the rapids are almost nonstop and it seemed that most of them were class IV. We were served a very tasty lunch afterwards in the restaurant next to the tour center. The Sarapiqui is a beautiful river to raft on – I highly recommend this tour company and guides Carlos and Stephen if you are up for this level of rapids. They also offer a class II and III trip if you’d like something less strenuous.

100% adrenaline and pura vida! - We booked a class IV half day rafting trip and we loved it! Finally an experience that lives up to our expectations in terms of adrenaline in particular! Esteban at the controls of the Raft frankly ensured the maneuvers and offered us fun, creepy and unforgettable moments! And David kayaked upriver to keep us safe "just in case" while making the photos and videos. Muchas Gracias y pura vida!

Amazing rafting trip - Oh, my goodness, what an amazing day! We did the Class III-IV trip, and it was fabulous. Steven trained us very well on how to follow his paddling instructions, and once he was confident that we'd absorbed the lessons, he gave us so much positive reinforcement, calling us "Familia" (which was so sweet) and praising our teamwork. The rapids were really exciting, and it was fun to get drenched! (Glad I switched out my glasses for contacts, though.) We felt 100% safe, and in the milder stretches, Steven pointed out birds and other sights. David, the owner, went ahead of us and took photos and videos, which were so much fun to have. He's the second generation for the business, and he talked about how they've been taking more and more care of the environment. After the river run, we had a delicious Costa Rican lunch, complete with cacao nibs, and we juiced sugar cane for dessert! Everyone was so sweet, and they made us feel really at home. And Mauricio did a great job driving us up the mountain to the put-in spot! Oh, and we loved the place where we stayed the night before, Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat. It's only 15 minutes away, which made for a very relaxed morning. The day before, we had a tour at Costa Rica Best Chocolate, which was also wonderful--and turns out to be run by a childhood friend of David's! All in all, the rafting trip was one of the best things we did in Costa Rica. Highly recommend!

Fantastic! Great experience - Fantastic experience. We searched around and after exploring many options, we landed on this company. 10/10 the right choice. Really nice people and a great experience. They made sure we had everything we needed and I appreciated the emphasis on safety. Our raft guide, Steven, had a great mixture of fun and seriousness when it was needed (big waves!). David photographed us and took some amazing videos during our trip. After we got out, it we were treated to a delicious lunch, fresh fruit, and coffee, and neat also to make our own sugarcane juice. Felt like we were being treated to a meal in someone’s home. We absolutely got our money’s worth and much more. We left feeling like family. Really good people and definitely would love to go back in the future! Woohoo! Thanks guys 🙏🏼
