Great Option for Visiting Florence and Pisa from theCruise Port - Clean and comfortable bus was on time and was run efficiently buy the tour guide and bus driver. They got us back to the cruise ship in time. Very satisfied and highly recommend.

Successful trip with two teenagers - Allesandro and his driver were fantastic. We had a great time seeing both Florence and Pisa. Our two daughters enjoyed his humor and he have a great recommendation for lunch in Florence, and gelato in Pisa. The guide was very helpful and his guide horse helped keep us together.

A Very Hectic Tour - The tour was actually pretty well organized. Once you get off the ship, you need to take a free shuttle to get to the cruise terminal. And when you get off the shuttle, you'll need to locate the tour guides in green tshirts. There are a few of them with clipboards, and you'll have to check-in with them to get into the right tour group. Now, this tour itself covers a lot of ground, and it's literally a full day, with the most of it on the road. First stop was Florence, the walking tour was about 1 hour, and then free time another 1.5 hrs. And that includes time for lunch, shopping and whatnot. You'll also need to allot at least 20 mins of walking time to head back to the bus. It's pretty far. Then next it's Pisa, where you'll be given 1 hour of free time to take pictures and climb the tower for those who have tickets. Again, you'll need to allot 15 mins to get back to the bus. Aside from one trip to the restroom (WC) at the very beginning of the tour, no other restroom break is given. So you'll need to make time to go to the restroom on your own during your allotted free time. It may not sound that bad right now, but during high season with a million other tourists in line to use the restrooms, it really eats up your time. And you really can't see much even if you didn't go to the restroom with so little time and so much to cover. My advice is to avoid any sit down restaurants that takes up a lot of time for lunch, and just grab something simple and quick to make the most of it. Take pictures quickly and move on to the next if you really want to see more. There's simply no time to soak up anything. The tour guide kept a very tight schedule, and wasn't very accommodating to any requests. She gave most of the information about the sights on the bus, and during the walking tour she just walked us to the sight, and gave us 10 mins to take pictures. She was very matter of fact, and wasn't particularly engaging or friendly. Overall, the tour is okay if your goal is just to get to the attraction sights and take some pictures. The lower your expectations, the better it'll be.

Very disappointed - Florance and Pisa Tour 10 June 2025
We were on this Classic tour on 10 June 25 at 7.45 am . Florance and Pisa Shore Experience from La Spezia, a big group on a bus ( GY 582ED) and some walking tours over a period of 9 hours.
Can’t remember the name of the guide but she was the worst guide we ever had using Viator for our sightseeing and shore excursions. We felt that she was inexperienced doing the walking tour. We have done many tours visiting 100 plus countries, some were booked through Viator, and it was the first time a tour guide left us stranded in a place/city unfamiliar to us with only a tourist map with insufficient street names provided. We did 6 tours in Europe with Viator in June this year and we were happy with other tours and there were no issues. Although it was a shore excursion tour with a guarantee given to get us back to the cruise ship on time, she managed to lose us while taking us back to the bus after having lunch in the same restaurant.
If not for my own swift action taken, my wife and I would have failed to get back to the cruise ship on time. We had to take at our own expense, two trains and two taxis to get back to the Port, more than two hours away, and we just made it by a few minutes. Luckily there were two trains available from Florance to La Spezia at that time.
We also missed the visit to the Leaning Pisa Tower although it was the next stop on the itinerary and paid for. The tour operator or the guide did not care that they lost us mainly due to the poor handling of the tour by them. Nobody has contacted us yet to find out what happened to us! She did not answer a number of phone calls we made to her when we could not find her. Also, no headsets provided to us and we could not hear any things she said while leading a big group of people walking behind her. She also walked very fast sometimes and never looked back or stopped and did a head count or similar to ensure that all her group was there. We decided to have lunch with her, mainly to ensure that we could walk back with her to the bus and not lose our way in the large crowds of tourists in Florance.
With all the precautions taken:- coach number and picture taken, tried to walk as fast as we can when she was fast paced, stayed with her for lunch so we would not get lost trying to find our way to the bus (it was a pick-up point on another place different to that we were dropped earlier!!), and we were stranded not being able to find the guide or the bus. We were very anxious!
How did that happen when walking back to the bus with the guide?
Whenever we had to cross a pedestrian crossing, she went in front and crossed the street when the light turned green but she never stopped and looked back to check whether others have also managed to cross the street.
That day she crossed a street and proceeded and it appears she took another left and right turns to another two streets. It was a busy street and we had to wait a long time until the traffic lights changed to green before crossing. By the time we crossed the road and came to other side they had gone out of our sight. Also, we did not know whether to turn to the left street or the right street!! We first tried one but could not see the group, gone smaller this time since some did not have lunch with her. We got separated because of her fault and she didn’t come back and check. We were there for about another 30 minutes thinking she would come looking for us. Also, we rang her phone number a few times using two separate phones without any success!!
We were very disappointed and cannot recommend this tour operator for any similar tours!

Horrible Service - They left us in Pisa, and never answered texts or calls. The bus left 5 mins before it should. Another group ran after the bus and they didn’t stop! The left 7 of us! Worse customer service.
