Fun and Beautiful - I read many reviews that had negative comments and was hesitant about doing it, but decided to still give it a try. I’m so happy we did. Our tour guide Lara was amazing and very knowledgeable and organized. She made the whole day fun. The stops are beautiful and loved it. The walk to the train was 25 mins and only 1 train ride was crowded while all others were not busy. I would recommend you try this excursion.

Lovely Cinque Terre - We had a wonderful time on May 17th, 2025 visiting Cinque Terre by train. Our tour guide Romina did a great job. We recommend this tour to everyone, without hesitation. Thank you, Romina!

Great tour but crowded - The guides were very friendly & good. They made sure we didn't get lost. The cities visited were great to see & the food was very good. The downside was the train was very crowded & the cities were crowded. This was not the tour company's fault. We were surprised on how crowded it was. The walk from cruise terminal was about 20 minutes. it was a nice way to see La Spiza.

Buy a train ticket and go by yourself - I called Viator and spoke to a consultant and was assured we would be picked up at the cruise port. I guess we were, but we had to walk 20+ minutes to get to the train station. The guides, two of them, for a group of 70+ did little buy the tickets and provide an assembly time to take the train to the next village. Just not what we expected from our conversation with Viator, and not a good value at all. Buy a train ticket, get a map and go by yourself. And save money and have a better visit.

Disappointed - There was little communication. We were guided to each port- but no tour or information/history was given. People had to take pictures of train tickets on their phones- one individual at a time. Chaos. Very large groups.

Not Recommended - tour description not accurate - VERY disorganized. - The tour started out with a 30 minute walk from the cruise port to the train station which was not mentioned in the tour description. There were approximately 50 people with two guides. The guides gave us zero information about the cities that we visited. All they did was drop us off and tell us to be back at a certain location and time. The tour was supposed to end with a 30 minute walk back to the cruise post from the train station (also not mentioned in the description. We paid 15 euro to take a taxi back instead of walking. The tour was VERY disorganized and I am surprised no one got left behind as the guides did NOT take inventory of who was there and who was not. I would like my money back plus the 15 euro we paid for a taxi. The cities were beautiful but with the extra walking we were to wore out to walk around (and we are in pretty good shape).

This operator is a dud! - This was the worst Viator trip I have ever been on. The operator listed two meeting points (#1 - at the cruise terminal and #2 at the train depot). No one was at the #1 meeting point to great us. After frantically trying to find someone at the #1 meeting point, we decided to move on to #2 which is a 20+ minute uphill walk. If the operator is not going to meet you at the #1 meeting point, they should advise you in advance. After getting to the meeting point late, we did still manage to make the train. Our guide never once acted like a tour guide. We had five train drop off sites and each time we were told to meet back at the drop off site in so many minutes. We managed to walk about 7 miles that day between the 5 different sites without the assistance of a group guide. The other operators provided walking tour guides. This is one operator that Viator should drop. Dan Flake

worst ever..avoid the green t-shirt experience! - about the tour " organized " by SIGHTSEEING EXPERIENCES/SHORE EXPERIENCES( we were not from a cruise ship) : the guide was useless..she wasn't on the spot were she was supposed to be..didn't give any usefull info about the villages..the time slots in the villages were MUCH shorter than indicated..we started in station La Spezia at 10.35 and were back there at 16.00..that's 5,5 h..NOT 7!...we had to search for the guide at the station..the first info given by the very rude woman at the phone was patently wrong( two entrances..go to main entrance NOT entrance straight to the platforms...wait there...nobody shows up..I call again .." yea she's at platform one..go the right now!" ..." excuse me? you gave wrong info. we were here at 9.30..its now 10.20.." .." YOU WANT TO DO THE TOUR OR ARGUE ABOUT IT???..GO TO THE PLATFORM" like sardines in a train...here we are..you have 45 min...be here back sharp we leave she screached. .and on and on we slogged....do yourself a favor and buy the train day ticket for cinque terre , it's about 20 euro's..you visit at leasure, save money and a big headache!!!!

Do not do this tour - This was the most disorganized tour ever. We did not receive tickets for the train. The guides were not helpful. We had to walk 30 minutes to the train. There was so much wasted time waiting at the station.
