From La Paz to Uyuni

La Paz - The journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in La Paz, scheduled an hour before the bus departure. You will then embark on a comfortable night bus to Uyuni, featuring reclining seats, an onboard bathroom, English-speaking assistance, and a light dinner.

Uyuni Salt Flats

Uyuni Salt Flat - After a 9-hour bus journey, you will be transferred to the offices where a delightful breakfast awaits before starting your tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats. The first stop is the “train cemetery,” where you can explore old, weathered trains.
The tour continues to the “Salar de Uyuni” via Colchani, where you can witness the traditional processing of edible salt. Next, visit the salt mounds and the heart of the Salar, where you’ll explore Isla Incahuasi, a natural formation of volcanic rock and giant cacti. The tour proceeds to the edges of the salt desert to enjoy a sunset toast with Bolivian wine. Finally, you will be taken to Uyuni to spend the night in a private hotel.

Altiplanic Lagoons

Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna - After a hearty breakfast, your guide will lead you southwest to discover the Cañapa, Stink, Chiarkota, Honda, and Ramadita lagoons. Here, you can observe numerous flamingos and other birds, such as Andean Geese and seagulls, amidst the stunning backdrop of snow-capped volcanoes. The tour then proceeds to “Laguna Colorada,” where you will spend the night in a basic room with cozy blankets, following a delicious local dinner. Overnight in a private room.

Lagoons, Uyuni, La Paz

Uyuni - On the fourth day, rise early to explore the geysers known as “Morning Sun,” witnessing the first light of day in this scenic area where volcanoes appear active, emitting fumaroles and minor volcanic activity.

Continuing the journey, you will travel over the highest point of the road at about 5,000 meters above sea level. The trip then proceeds to Laguna Colorada, followed by a visit to the “stone tree” and along the high plateau road to reach the Polques hot springs. Here, you can enjoy a warm bath before crossing the Dali desert to reach the green lagoon at the base of the Licancabur Volcano.

The tour then returns to Uyuni, where you can observe the local Andean flora and fauna before arriving in Uyuni at 5:00 PM. After a brief rest, you will be transferred to your bus for the return journey to La Paz.

La Paz Department - Arrival in La Paz is expected around 6:00 AM, where a driver will be ready to pick you up and take you to your hotel.

The beautiful Uyuni salt flats are the world’s largest salt flat. It is located in the Department of Potosi in Southwest Bolivia at 3.650 meters above sea level.

La Isla del Pescado (Fish Island), which is located on the salt flat, is full of giant cactuses and named this way as the \’island\’ has the shape of a fish. It is the only sign of life for miles.

Laguna Verde, Laguna Colorada and the hot springs can also be visited during this tour. Laguna Verde is a beautiful green colored lake close to the Chilean border at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. Its color is caused by sediments, containing copper minerals. Laguna Colorada is a red colored lake, also because of the presence of minerals. The lagoons together with the flamingos create a very unique scene of spectacular beauty!
