Death Road by Full Suspension Bike + Bus from La Paz to Uyuni

One Death Road - DAY 1
The mountain biking adventure to Coroico begins at 7:30 a.m. with a hotel pickup. The journey starts at La Cumbre, located at 4,700 meters.
Initially, enjoy a 22 km descent on an asphalt road. At the police checkpoint (after 45 minutes), all tourists are required to pay a 50 Bs entrance fee. This initial segment helps build confidence and familiarity with the bike.
Rest assured, a safety van follows the group, with water stops, photo opportunities, and bike checks available.
Next, tackle the “Death Road” in a compact group (safety first!) and enjoy snacks like chocolate and fruit. The tour concludes in Yolosa, where a hotel with showers, a swimming pool, and a buffet lunch awaits.
At 3:00 p.m., return to La Paz via the new road, arriving at 7:00 p.m. near the bus station. The bus to Uyuni departs at 9:00 p.m.

Uyuni Salt Flats / Train Cemetery / Colchani / Incahuasi Island / Sunset

Salar de Uyuni - DAY 2
Arrive in Uyuni at 6:30 a.m. and enjoy free time to explore.
Meeting time: 10:00 a.m. at our office in Uyuni
Departure time: 10:30 a.m.
Begin the tour of Uyuni Salt Flats with a visit to the ‘Train Graveyard’ to see Bolivia’s first locomotives.
Next, visit Colchani, a small settlement with salt miners’ workshops, and view handicrafts made of salt and textiles from llama and alpaca. Capture photos of the vast white salt expanse. Visit “Ojos de Agua Salada,” the Salt Hotel-Museum, and the famous “Flags of the World” Island.
Lunch is served near “Isla Incahuasi,” followed by a hike to see giant cacti and petrified coral rock formations.
Organize your group for fun perspective and proportion-distorted photos on the salt flats’ blinding white surface.
Then, proceed to a spacious area to witness a stunning sunset over the salt flats with a glass of wine.

Agencha / Ollague Volcano / Andean Lagoons / Red Lagoon / Stone Tree / Siloli Desert

Laguna Colorada - Day 2.
Begin at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast.
First, visit Galaxy Caves, then explore the Chiguana Desert on the south side of Uyuni salt flats, surrounded by volcanoes like the active Ollagüe (5,840m), visible from a lookout point.
Continue along the rocky “El Pasito Tuntun” road.
Later, visit Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarcota Lagoons, home to flamingos.
Conclude the day by entering the “Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve” (NATIONAL PARK), visiting the Siloli Desert at 4,550m (the highest and driest in the world), and taking a photo next to the ‘Rock Tree’ (a lava rock formation).
Before reaching the final destination, stop at the Red Lagoon overlook to see more pink flamingos in their natural habitat and admire the intensely red-colored lake.
Spend the night at a hotel in Huayllajara.

Huayllajara / Geysers / White Lagoon / Green Lagoon / Licancabur Volcano / Rock Valley

Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna - Start early around 5:00 a.m. to visit the Sol de Mañana Geyser (5,000m) and walk beside fumaroles and steaming craters with boiling mud at 150-200°C. Enjoy a bath in open-air hot springs with 35°C water.
Next, appreciate the Dali Desert, where Salvador Dali found inspiration from boulders scattered in the desert, and visit the Green Lagoon (toxic copper water at the foot of the Licancabur volcano at 6,000m, near the Bolivia-Chile border).
Return to Uyuni, enjoying beautiful scenery and a picnic lunch along the roadside. Pass by Rock Valley, Alota settlement, and San Cristobal Village, where a baroque church and colonial paintings can be seen. Return to Uyuni town.
