Great tour! - Absolutely magical! Great team, great information. Loved it so much we went twice and the second trip was even better than the first. Fulfilled a childhood dream.

Life-affirming experience - If swimming with the largest fish in the universe is on your bucket list, this is the group you want to book with. If swimming with whale sharks is not on you list, please add it so that you too can become closer to the wonders of the cosmos. Our guides Erin and Jayjay are infinitely capable and knowledgeable which put our small group at ease instantly. They exude happiness and credibility in a perfect mixture. Eco Migrations limits the number to six explorers on each boat (I don’t know if exceptions are made for larger families), and only three in the water at a time, always accompanied by a guide. This makes for an intimate experience other companies cannot match - we saw other groups on our dive, so this is not hyperbole. With their warmth and professionalism, these two, and our Capitan, created an unforgettable experience for us.

Wonderful experience. We... - Wonderful experience. We found the staff knowledgeable, personable and professional. We had an epic encounter with many whale sharks . We appreciated the emphasis on safety and concern for the animals. We enjoyed the small group and all the information about the whale sharks. We had a 10/10 day would highly recommend.

Great Adventure ! - Crew was great. Kept us entertained while waiting for our turn into the snorkeling area. Small group of six so we had time to swim with three different whale sharks. Great experience !

Whale Shark Tour review - Friendly and informative staff who taught us about Whale Sharks prior to leaving. Great staff and we had 3 long swims by which time everyone had their fill. Erin was a great leader. Definitely a bucket list adventure with a good team. I suggest the earlier trips since the winds pick up most afternoons on the Gulf. They do provide Dramamine if you feel you need it.

No whales and bad overall experience. - It's always a bit unfair rating experiences that depends on weather and wild animals and maybe on another day we whould have had a lovely experience. As it was, we didn't see any whale sharks but we also had a quite bad experience overall. One did show up but since we were dropped 30 meters behind it, we had to snorkel like crazy in order to catch up with it. One in our party didn't even enter the water as she realized she wouldn't have a chance. Out of our group, three people where lucky and were dropped ahead of the whale and hence managed to see a glimpse. Another one manage to swim fast enough but half of the group didn't even see it. Thing is, these things happen. It's wild animals and you can't rely on them to show up on schedule. What bugged us was the way this disappointing experience was handled. The boat crew just seemed like they couldn't care less. They could have spent the two hour hunt for whale sharks telling us stuff about them or the area or about other animals. Then, we would at least have moved away with some knowledge. They could have shown some concern for our disappointment that things didn't turn out as expected. Then, we might have felt encourage to do a new attemp. As it was, we just had a very bad experience over all. It could have been a fun experience despite the lack of whale sharks, but it wasn't. It was just a very stressful swim. Also, we were bringing a long an elderly woman. Given the amount of intense swiming required, it should have been obvious to the staff that she wouldn't be able to do it but they didn't give any hint of that before going off. So, advise for others: If you're not a super strong snorkler who brings gear with which you're familiar: check what the weather conditions will be like before booking. Also, I would try out another company that cares more about the overall experience and make sure you have a good day regardless of whale shark appearances. On the plus side, communicating with the center in advance was really smooth.

Sorry they are overbooked - Don't book it via Viator. When we arrived they told us "sorry we are overbooked"... We were lucky because a couple did not show up. Elsewise we would have done a 2,5 h car tip to this venue. Call them. But don't use Viator
