At the bay’s southern tip lies Crescent Island and the Rehúsa Canal, which links the bay to the Pacific Ocean. The bay is bordered by a series of sandy bays to the north and east. Towns along the bay include Puerto Datil, Puerto Cortez, Las Cuevitas, Puerto Charley, and El Cayuco.
